Electro Kinetic Technologies builds a family of motorized medical carts for hospitals and clinics, and this is where you start if you know the job but not the model. The range covers the Pony Express 2085 medication cart, the Pony Express 1085 endoscopy cart, battery powered crash carts with secure storage for tools, instruments and medication, and the Model 1080 hospital pharmacy cart that supplies medication rooms across the building.
What they share is the reason they exist. EK Tech cites research from the Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety showing that push and pull forces as low as 35 pounds contribute to musculoskeletal injuries at work, which is why many hospitals now limit how hard staff may push equipment. Carpet, thresholds and inclines make that limit easy to break with a loaded cart. Putting a powered drive under the cart takes the force off the caregiver rather than asking them to work around it.
The 1085 and 2085 column carts share one platform. Each is 54 in long, 27 in wide and 51 in high, runs 0 to 3 mph on variable speed, is rated to a 6 degree maximum incline and covers up to 10 miles of operation on a single charge. Both carry deep cycle AGM batteries with over 2x the life of standard AGM, a UL, cUL and CE listed on board smart charger on 120 or 240 VAC through a 10 ft hospital grade retractable cord, regenerative dynamic braking, an automatic holding brake that holds on an incline, and a horn, key switch, emergency stop and high and low speed switch at the handle. Two columns take drawers 3 in, 6 in or 9 in high, shelves and a keyboard shelf, with locking from individual drawer locks up to an electronic keypad and proximity card reader. The Model 1080 pharmacy cart is a different animal, six pull out drawers 34 in wide by 24 in deep in a 44 by 31 by 57 in body, enough for over 20 nurse stations, and EK Tech adapts it to accept a Pony Express electric tugger or mounts it on a motorized platform.

Take it from the job. A med pass on a unit is the Pony Express 2085 medication cart. A scope tower moving between procedure rooms is the Pony Express 1085 endoscopy cart. Supplies and medication that have to be at a code is a crash cart. Distribution from central pharmacy to medication rooms is the Model 1080 pharmacy cart. The 1085 and 2085 column carts run from 0 to 3 mph on variable speed and cover up to 10 miles of operation on a single charge, with a maximum incline rating of 6 degrees. EK Tech does not publish speed or range figures for the crash cart line because each one is engineered to order, so we confirm those with the factory on your quote.
On the column carts, individual drawer locks, column locks, an electronic keypad with a PIN code, or an electronic keypad with a proximity card reader. On the Model 1080 pharmacy cart, security locking doors as standard with an optional electronic locking system for HIPAA and JCAHO requirements.

The 2085 medication cart is the unit level cart a nurse takes on the med pass, and it drives itself. The Model 1080 pharmacy cart is the distribution cart that carries patient specific medication from central pharmacy out to medication rooms, holds enough for over 20 nurse stations, and becomes motorized by pairing with a Pony Express tugger or motorized platform.

Each unit ships by freight carrier on a skid from the EK Tech factory in Wisconsin. Once your order is confirmed we give you the current factory lead time with your quote, and transit typically adds three to seven business days depending on your distance. We coordinate dock delivery or liftgate service with you when the build is scheduled.

The EK Tech motorized medical cart carries the Electro Kinetic Technologies limited warranty on the frame and drive system, with the exact term confirmed on your quote. It does not cover service or transportation costs, normal wear items, damage from misuse, unauthorized work or modifications, or outdoor storage. Shipping damage and incidental damages are also not covered. The warranty is valid for the original buyer with a sales receipt, and any warranty changes need approval from Electro Kinetic Technologies, LLC.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. Found the type of Scooter. I wanted to buy online not everyone has the kind of scooter. I have . Talked to Raphael Perlmann about the scooter I wanted.
