The Wheelchair Carrier US208 Patriotic Electric Lift is a hitch mounted platform lift that carries your mobility scooter or power wheelchair on the back of your car, SUV, van, or truck. Press the handheld switch and the 28 by 48 inch steel deck lowers to the pavement. Drive or roll the device on, cinch the two included retractable ratchets, and press the switch again to raise everything to travel height. No lifting, no ramps, and no bending under load.
What sets the US208 apart from every other lift in the Wheelchair Carrier line is the deck itself. The platform is laser cut with a full stars and stripes American flag, a tribute to veterans that also drains water and cuts wind drag. The whole unit is fabricated from US steel in Wauseon Ohio and protected by an e coat base layer under a powder coat finish, so it shrugs off road spray and winter salt.
Rated for 350 lb, the US208 handles travel scooters, full size scooters, and most full size power chairs. It slides into either a 1 1/4 inch or a 2 inch square receiver on a Class II or Class III hitch, and the 21 foot wiring harness with a 30 amp resettable breaker connects straight to your vehicle battery. A key switch disables the motor while you drive so the platform cannot creep down in transit, and a manual crank backs up the motor if you ever lose power.

Every wear part on the US208 is a stocked replacement item, which is a real advantage over imported lifts. Extra retractable ratchet sets add tie down points for wider power chairs. The standard switchbox, key switch, spare key sets, toggle switches, and the 30 amp circuit breaker are all available individually. Key safety notes. Never exceed the hitch manufacturers recommended tongue weight even though the lift itself is rated to 350 lb. Always strap the device with both retractable ratchets before driving. Remove the key from the key switch during transport so the platform stays locked at travel height. The harness includes a 30 amp resettable breaker that protects the vehicle circuit, and the manual crank should only be used with the motor unpowered.
Daily use takes about a minute in each direction. Insert and turn the key, hold the switch to lower the deck to the ground, and board your scooter or power chair up the double entry platform from either side. Pull the two retractable ratchets over the frame, snug them down, then hold the switch to raise the platform to travel height. Turn and pocket the key and the lift is locked for the road.
The lift draws power from your vehicle battery through the included 21 foot harness, so there is nothing to charge and no separate battery to maintain. With up to 24 inches of ground clearance the platform rides above driveway aprons and parking curbs, and the folded stowaway position keeps the deck upright and compact when you travel empty. If the motor ever fails away from home, the manual backup crank raises or lowers the platform by hand.
An occasional wash and a coat of the factory lithium spray on the lift screw is the whole maintenance routine. The e coat plus powder finish is built for year round outdoor exposure.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. Found the type of Scooter. I wanted to buy online not everyone has the kind of scooter. I have . Talked to Raphael Perlmann about the scooter I wanted.
