Quick Overview

The Wheelchair Carrier Lift n Go Model 210 puts an end to wrestling a heavy scooter or power chair into a trunk. The lift slides into a 1 1/4 or 2 inch square hitch receiver on a Class II or III hitch and carries your mobility device on a laser cut steel platform behind the vehicle. Press the handheld switchbox and the electric actuator lowers the 28 by 48 inch platform to the ground. Drive your scooter or power chair aboard, cinch the two included retractable ratchets, and press the switch again to raise everything to travel height with up to 24 inches of ground clearance.

The Model 210 lifts up to 350 pounds, which covers most travel scooters, full size 3 and 4 wheel scooters, and the majority of power chairs. The lift itself weighs 103 pounds and wires to your vehicle battery through a 21 foot harness protected by a 30 amp resettable circuit breaker, so it works on sedans, SUVs, vans, and trucks alike.

When you are not hauling a device, the platform folds up into a compact stowaway position against the back of the vehicle. Every Lift n Go is designed and manufactured in the USA by Wheelchair Carrier and is backed by a 3 year transferable limited warranty on the frame with 1 year coverage on the electrical components.

How to Purchase & What's Included

How do I get a price for the Model 210?

We sell the Model 210 on a quote basis so we can pair you with the right configuration and the best available price. Call us toll free at 1-888-233-5563 or use our contact form and we will have a quote back to you the same business day in most cases.

Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the Model 210?

Most products in this range do not meet the strict medical device rules that Medicare and Medicaid use, so they rarely qualify for coverage. We do not work with Medicare and we do not bill private insurance directly.

Some private plans will reimburse you outside of the Medicare framework. The best way to find out is to call your insurer and ask. If they say yes, we are happy to provide an invoice and proof of purchase so you can file for reimbursement.

Notice to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare pays for equipment only when the supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have one, so Medicare will not pay for anything we sell you. You are personally and fully responsible for payment.

Documentation, Manuals & Safety

Official documents from Wheelchair Carrier

Key safety notes

  • Never exceed the hitch manufacturer's recommended tongue and towing capacity for your vehicle
  • Use a Class II or Class III hitch and confirm receiver size before ordering
  • Always secure the mobility device with both retractable ratchets before driving
  • Keep the 30 amp circuit breaker accessible and check harness connections periodically
  • Total load on the platform must stay at or under 350 pounds

Daily Operation & Transportation

Daily use is a two button affair. The corded switchbox raises and lowers the platform through the electric actuator, so loading is simply drive on, strap down, and lift. The platform sits low for easy boarding and rises to a travel position with up to 24 inches of ground clearance so you clear curbs and steep driveway transitions.

Power comes from your vehicle's 12V battery through the included 21 foot wire harness. A 30 amp resettable circuit breaker protects the circuit, and there is nothing to charge separately since the lift draws from the vehicle.

With no scooter aboard, the platform folds up into its stowaway position tight against the back of the vehicle, which keeps overall length down for parking. If you need trunk or tailgate access with the lift installed, add the Model 130 Swing Away and the entire carrier pivots aside with one hand.

Common Questions

Will the Lift n Go Model 210 work on my vehicle

It fits vehicles with a Class II or Class III hitch and slides into either a 1 1/4 inch or 2 inch square receiver. The one firm rule is that the lift weight of 103 lb plus your mobility device must stay within the hitch maker's tongue weight rating, so check your hitch label or ask us and we will verify fit before you order.

Can it lift my power chair or scooter

The Model 210 lifts up to 350 lb on a 28 by 48 inch usable platform. That covers most travel scooters, full size 3 and 4 wheel scooters, and the majority of mid size power chairs. Tell us your exact model when you request a quote and we will confirm the fit.

Does the lift need its own battery or charger

No. The lift runs off your vehicle's 12V battery through the included 21 foot wire harness, which is protected by a 30 amp resettable circuit breaker. Once wired there is nothing separate to charge.

Can I still get into my trunk or tailgate with the lift installed

With the standard setup the folded platform sits behind the rear of the vehicle. Add the optional Model 130 Swing Away joint and the whole carrier pivots aside with one hand and no locking pins, giving you 67 inches of clearance to open a trunk, liftgate, or tailgate.

How is my scooter held in place while driving

Two retractable ratchet tie downs come standard on the platform. You hook them to the frame of your scooter or power chair and cinch them tight so the device cannot shift during transport.

What warranty comes with the Model 210

Wheelchair Carrier backs the lift with a 3 year transferable limited warranty covering defects in material and workmanship on the frame. Electrical components including the motor and actuator carry 1 year coverage and the ratchet straps are covered for 1 year.

Where is the Lift n Go made

Every Lift n Go is designed and manufactured by Wheelchair Carrier in the USA. The company builds its lifts in Ohio and cuts the Made in USA mark right into the steel platform.

Is Wheelchair Carrier a Good Brand?

Wheelchair Carrier is a US manufacturer based in Wauseon Ohio that has specialized in hitch mounted wheelchair and scooter lifts for decades, with roots the company traces back to 1977. Unlike import brands, every lift in the line is designed and fabricated in the United States, right down to the laser cut Made in USA lettering on the Model 210 platform. The company backs that build quality with a 3 year transferable limited warranty on the frame and materials plus 1 year coverage on electrical components, and its lifts are carried by major national mobility dealers across the country. For a device that hangs off the back of your vehicle carrying thousands of dollars of mobility equipment, that combination of domestic manufacturing, long track record, and transferable warranty is exactly what you want.
