Lifts, carriers and trailers
Installation and Delivery for Mobility Scooter Lifts, Carriers and Trailers
Updated November 2, 2026 by Heavy Duty Mobility. Installer prices depend on the lift, the vehicle and where you live, so you always get a quote before anything is booked.
Vehicle lifts and carriers ship free to your curb and need assembly and a hitch fitting before the first trip. If you would rather not do that yourself, we can find a local installer near you who assembles the lift and mounts it on your vehicle. The ScootaTrailer can be delivered to your door fully assembled and hooked up. Installation is quoted by the installer, so you see the price first and decide from there. It is very often less than what we would pay ourselves, and we do not aim to make money on it.

What we can arrange
Every lift, carrier and trailer we sell ships free in the lower 48. A hitch lift arrives in its shipping crate and has to be assembled, fitted to the receiver on your vehicle and, on an electric lift, wired to the vehicle battery. Many buyers do that themselves or with a hitch shop. If you would rather have it done for you, tell us when you order and we find a local pro near you. The same offer is on each product page.
| Product | What a local pro can do |
|---|---|
| EZ Carrier electric lifts and manual carriers | Assemble it and install it on your vehicle hitch |
| Wheelchair Carrier electric lifts and manual carriers | Assemble it and install it on your vehicle hitch |
| ScootaTrailer, open or with the aluminum top | Deliver it to your door fully assembled and hook it up to your vehicle, or do just one of the two |
| Porto Mobility Elevon, Rovan and Stron lifts | White glove delivery for $250 on the product page. A mobility shop brings it inside, sets it up and shows you how it works |
| Any other lift, carrier or ramp on our site | Ask us and we check what a local pro can do for it |
How it works
- Tell us which lift or carrier you want, your vehicle make, model and year, and your ZIP code. Use the form on this page, call 1-888-233-5563 or use live chat.
- We check that the lift suits your vehicle. For a hitch lift that means the receiver size, the hitch class and the tongue weight rating, with the weight of your scooter or power chair added to the weight of the lift.
- We look for a local installer near you and come back with their price and how soon they can do it.
- You decide. Nothing is booked and nothing is charged for the installation until you say yes.
- Once the lift arrives, the installer assembles it, mounts it on the hitch, wires an electric lift to the battery and shows you how to load and unload your scooter or chair.
Check your hitch before you order
Most of our lifts fit a 2 in Class III receiver, and many also fit a 1 1/4 in Class II receiver at a lower weight rating. The lift plus your scooter or power chair with its batteries must stay under the tongue weight rating in your vehicle manual. If your vehicle has no hitch yet, a hitch shop can fit one first. Not sure what you have? Send us a photo of the receiver and we tell you.
ScootaTrailer delivered ready to tow
The ScootaTrailer is built to order with a production time of at least 3 weeks. It tows behind a hitch with a 2 in ball set 17 to 19 in off the ground, weighs 400 lb open or 475 lb with the aluminum top, and carries a scooter or power chair up to 600 lb. If you want it ready to tow the moment it arrives, a local pro can deliver it to your door fully assembled and hook it up to your vehicle, or do just one of the two. Tell us when you order and we find someone near you.
Porto Mobility lifts come with white glove delivery
The Porto Mobility Elevon, Rovan and Stron are portable lifts for folding power chairs. They do not mount on a hitch, so there is nothing to install on the vehicle. White glove delivery is a $250 option under Options and Upgrades on their product pages. A mobility shop near you receives the lift, checks it, brings it into your home and shows you how to use it, the same service we offer on scooters and power wheelchairs.
What it costs
Installation is quoted by the installer rather than priced on our site. The quote depends on the lift, the vehicle and the distance to you, and we pass it to you before anything is booked. It is very often less than what we would pay for the same work ourselves, and our aim is not to make money on installation. Shipping of the lift, carrier or trailer itself is free in the lower 48. The Porto Mobility lifts are the one exception, with a fixed white glove price of $250. Scooters and power wheelchairs have their own white glove prices by brand on our white glove delivery page.
Questions about lift and carrier installation
We can find a local installer near you who assembles the lift or carrier and mounts it on your vehicle hitch. Tell us the lift, your vehicle and your ZIP code and we come back with the installer and their price. You decide before anything is booked.
The installer quotes it by the lift, the vehicle and where you live, and we tell you the amount before you commit. The quote is very often less than what we would pay for the same work ourselves, and we do not aim to make money on it. Shipping of the lift itself is free in the lower 48. The Porto Mobility lifts are different, with a fixed $250 white glove option on the product page.
Yes for a hitch lift or carrier. Most of ours fit a 2 in Class III receiver, and many also fit a 1 1/4 in Class II receiver at a lower weight rating. The lift plus your scooter or chair must stay under the tongue weight rating of your hitch and vehicle. The ScootaTrailer needs a hitch with a 2 in ball. The Porto Mobility lifts need no hitch at all.
It can. A local pro can deliver it to your door fully assembled and hook it up to your vehicle, or do just one of the two. Say so when you order. The trailer is built to order, so allow at least 3 weeks of production time before it ships.
No. The Elevon, Rovan and Stron are portable lifts that do not mount on the vehicle. If you want help setting one up, choose White Glove Delivery for $250 on the product page and a mobility shop brings it inside and shows you how it works.
We find installers across the lower 48. In Alaska and Hawaii ask us first, because freight is quoted separately and not every area has an installer.
Yes. Installation is arranged separately from the order, so you can ask before you buy or after the lift has arrived. The earlier you ask, the sooner we can line up an installer for the day it arrives.
