The Wheelchair Carrier Hold N Go Model US218 is an American made hitch mounted electric lift that carries a 3 wheel or 4 wheel mobility scooter or powerchair on the back of your vehicle. Flip the switch and the 48 by 28 inch steel platform lowers to the ground, roll the scooter on, and the lift raises it up to 24 inches to travel height. There are no ramps to climb and no heavy lifting at any point.
What sets the Hold N Go apart from its Lift N Go sibling is the automatic hold down arm. As the platform rises, the arm presses down over the scooter deck and clamps the load in place, so you never crank ratchet straps in a parking lot. Ratchets are still included in the box for riders who want a backup tie down, but the arm alone secures most scooters for everyday driving.
The whole unit weighs 95 lb and installs in a Class II or Class III hitch with either a 1 1/4 inch or 2 inch square receiver. A 21 foot wiring harness with a 30 amp resettable circuit breaker connects the lift to your vehicle battery. When you are driving without the scooter, the platform folds itself up into a compact stowaway position so it does not drag or block your view. Wheelchair Carrier backs the frame with a 3 year transferable warranty and the electronics with a 1 year warranty.

Key safety notes. Never stand or ride on the platform while it is moving. Confirm your hitch is rated Class II or Class III and that the combined tongue weight of the 95 lb lift plus your scooter stays within your vehicle rating. Wheels smaller than 7 inches need the cradle accessory before loading. Keep the hold down arm engaged whenever the vehicle is moving and check the 30 amp breaker connection after installation.
Daily use is a two step routine. Lower the platform to the ground with the toggle switch, drive or push the scooter onto the deck, then raise it. The hold down arm engages automatically as the platform reaches travel height, so there is nothing to strap or tighten. Unloading is the same in reverse and takes under a minute.
The lift is hardwired to your vehicle battery through the included 21 foot harness, so it never needs separate charging and works even when the scooter battery is dead. A 30 amp resettable circuit breaker protects the circuit. When you drive without a scooter on board the platform automatically folds up into its stowaway position, keeping the back of the vehicle tidy and preserving ground clearance. I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated.
