The Pony Express 1065 Lithium is the heavy duty electric tugger for operations that run all day and all night. It is rated for 5,000 lb of load on casters and up to 20,000 lb on rails, with actual performance depending on your casters and floor surface, and the swappable lithium battery pack means the tugger never has to stop working to charge. When the pack on the tug signals a low charge, the operator trades it for the pack on the charging stand and goes straight back to the floor.
The lithium iron phosphate pack is 24 VDC and 40 Ah and recharges in approximately 90 minutes on the external UL, cUL and CSA listed charger, which takes 85 to 270 VAC single phase at 50 or 60 Hz. These cells are light enough that swapping a pack meets OSHA standards, they carry UN38.3 certification for safe transport worldwide with no special packaging, they deliver 100 percent of rated capacity regardless of the rate of discharge, they charge six times faster than lead acid and they can last up to fourteen times as long as AGM and GEL batteries. The battery management system signals a recharge at the 80 percent discharge point, which is part of why the packs last, and it gives visual and audible warnings on the tug plus Bluetooth monitoring of a whole fleet through a phone app.
The chassis stays compact at 25 inches long and 24 inches wide, so heavy loads still move through tight hallways and manufacturing aisles. The ergonomic tiller head is height adjustable with thumb controls for speed and direction, and a high and low selector covers 0 to 1.5 mph on the low setting and 0 to 3.0 mph on the high setting. Carts attach with a draw bar, a ring coupler or a ball hitch, and EK Tech will build a custom coupling when your carts need one. The chassis is welded steel with a powder coated finish, the drive wheel is puncture proof and non-marking, and the parking brake is electromagnetic.
Plants, hospitals, hotels, distribution centers, pharmaceutical sites and food and beverage lines all run the 1065 family, and the lithium version is the one to pick when a tugger has to cover more than one shift. If a single shift is all you need, the Pony Express 1065 with AGM batteries does the same 5,000 lb work. Extra swappable lithium battery packs and the lithium battery charging station are sold separately so you can build the rotation your shifts need.

EKT rates it at 5,000 lb on casters and up to 20,000 lb on rails. Actual performance depends on the casters under your carts and the surface they roll on, so tell us what you move and where and we will confirm the rating with the factory before you order.
The 24 VDC 40 Ah lithium iron phosphate pack lifts off the tug and a charged pack goes on in its place, which is how one machine covers back to back shifts. A pack recharges in approximately 90 minutes on the external UL, cUL and CSA listed charger, and the battery management system tells the operator to swap at the 80 percent discharge point.
Loads attach with a draw bar, a ring coupler or a ball hitch, and the couplings and hitches are fully customizable, so EK Tech can build the connection your carts need. Send us photos and dimensions of the carts you tow and we will spec the hitch with the tugger.
The bodies match, so both are 25 inches long and 24 inches wide and both run 0 to 3 mph. The standard 1065 uses a 70 Ah AGM pack that gives 8 hours of operation and recharges in about 4 hours on an internal charger. The 1065 Lithium uses a 40 Ah lithium iron phosphate pack that recharges in approximately 90 minutes and can be swapped mid shift for 24/7 running.
These cells hold UN38.3 certification, so they transport globally with no special packaging, unlike lithium chemistries that are prone to combustion. They can last up to fourteen times as long as AGM and GEL batteries thanks to the management system that calls for a recharge at 80 percent discharge, they give 100 percent of rated capacity whatever the rate of discharge, they charge six times faster than lead acid and they have a low environmental impact at disposal.
That depends on how many hours a day the tugger runs and how long a pack lasts on your loads. A pack charges in approximately 90 minutes, so many sites run one spare pack on the charging stand and rotate. Yes. Every pack reports over Bluetooth to a downloadable app, so you can see the state of charge of your whole fleet from a connected smart phone. On the tugger itself the operator gets visual and audible indicators before the pack runs low, which stops a load being stranded far from a charging point.

Each unit ships by freight carrier on a skid from the EK Tech factory in Wisconsin. Once your order is confirmed we give you the current factory lead time with your quote, and transit typically adds three to seven business days depending on your distance. We coordinate dock delivery or liftgate service with you when the build is scheduled.

The Pony Express 1065 Lithium comes with a 2 year warranty on the frame and drive system. It does not cover service or transportation costs, normal wear items, damage from misuse, unauthorized work or modifications, or outdoor storage. Shipping damage and incidental damages are also not covered. The warranty is valid for the original buyer with a sales receipt, and any warranty changes need approval from Electro Kinetic Technologies, LLC.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Found the type of Scooter. I wanted to buy online not everyone has the kind of scooter. I have . Talked to Raphael Perlmann about the scooter I wanted.
