Overview

Bangeran Mammoth 22 Portable Ergonomic Power Wheelchair

The Bangeran Mammoth 22 pairs a 22 inch wide seat and a 365 lb capacity with a 3 second remote fold, so a larger rider gets room to sit without giving up the trunk. Quadruple shock absorbers and a 12Ah lithium battery cover up to 12 miles a charge.

The Bangeran Mammoth 22 is the wide seat member of the Mammoth family. A 22 inch seat and a 365 lb weight rating give a larger rider real room, and the backrest adjusts from 18 to 24 inches so the support lands where it should rather than where the frame happens to put it.

Comfort comes from four shock absorbers rather than the usual two, which takes the edge off grass, gravel, snow and rough pavement. Solid 8 inch front and 12 inch rear wheels never go flat, and the intelligent electromagnetic brake stops the chair smoothly and holds it on a grade.

The fold is the party trick. Press the Bluetooth remote and the frame collapses in about 3 seconds, and the double folding pedal tucks away when it is not in use. A handle under the seat helps lift the 64 lb chair into a trunk, and the 12Ah lithium battery lifts out to make that easier still.

A 24V brushless 250W dual motor drive gives a 4 mph top speed, up to 12 miles of range and a tight 360 degree turn inside a 33 inch radius. The detachable all direction digital joystick swaps to either armrest, so left and right hand riders both get a natural control position.

Who is the Mammoth 22 seat for?

Riders up to 365 lb who find an 18 or 20 in seat tight across the hips, or who want room to shift position through a long day. The seat is 22 in wide and 18 in deep. The backrest adjusts from 18 to 24 in high, so taller riders get support in the right place instead of across the shoulder blades.

Is the Bangeran Mammoth 22 the same as the Mammoth EX 22?

No, they are different chairs. Both have a wide seat, but the Mammoth EX 22 is the heavier duty model with a 400 lb rating. The Mammoth 22 carries a 365 lb rating on a lighter build. Riders near or over 365 lb should look at the EX 22.

How does the Mammoth 22 remote folding work?

A Bluetooth remote comes with the chair and folds the frame in about 3 seconds from a few paces away. The same remote unfolds it and can drive the empty chair short distances, which helps when loading a car alone. The double folding footrest pedal tucks away as well.

How heavy is the Mammoth 22 to lift into a car?

The chair weighs 64 lb. The 5 lb lithium battery lifts out first, and a handle under the seat gives you a solid grip for lifting it into a trunk. At that weight, plan on two people if lifting alone is a struggle.

Can the Mammoth 22 handle grass and gravel?

Yes. Four shock absorbers, solid 8 in front and 12 in rear wheels and a sturdy frame cope with grass, gravel, snow and rough pavement, and the solid tires never go flat. Keep to slopes of about 6 degrees or less. The electromagnetic brake stops the chair smoothly and holds it on a grade.

How far does the Mammoth 22 go on a charge?

Up to 12 miles on its 12Ah, 24 volt lithium battery (about 288 Wh). A full charge takes 6 to 8 hours. Slopes, rough ground and heavier loads use more power, so treat 12 miles as the rated maximum.

How fast is the Mammoth 22, and can the joystick switch sides?

Top speed is 4 mph from a 250W brushless dual motor drive. The detachable digital joystick moves to either armrest, so left and right handed riders both get a natural control position. The chair turns a full circle within a 33 in radius.

Will Medicare or insurance pay for the Mammoth 22?

Medicare will not pay for it when bought here. Heavy Duty Mobility does not hold a Medicare supplier number and does not bill Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance. Some private plans reimburse you directly, so ask your insurer. If they agree, we provide an invoice and proof of purchase for your claim.
