The Bangeran Mammoth EX is the wide seat member of the Mammoth family, built for riders who found standard folding power chairs too narrow or too lightly rated. Bangeran advertises 22 inches of seating room and the measured space between the armrests is 21.5 inches, paired with a 500 lb weight rating on a reinforced aircraft grade aluminum frame. Despite the bariatric rating the chair itself weighs 70 lbs without the battery, which keeps it in liftable territory for a caregiver loading a trunk.
Two 250W motors give the Mammoth EX 500W of combined power, enough for a steady 4 mph top speed and grades up to 6 degrees. The 24V 12Ah lithium battery delivers around 12 miles per charge, and four shock absorbers with two up front and two in back smooth out sidewalk joints, gravel and grass. An intelligent electromagnetic brake holds the chair the moment you release the joystick.
The whole chair folds flat to 16.5 by 28.5 by 30 inches with no tools, and a Bluetooth remote lets a caregiver fold, unfold or even drive the empty chair from up to 10 yards away. Flip back armrests make side transfers simple, the footrest folds twice to tuck under the seat, and the 360 degree waterproof joystick mounts on either armrest. The standard battery is TSA and FAA friendly so the Mammoth EX can board planes and cruise ships.

Every Mammoth EX ships with a removable side storage bag on the armrest, an under seat pouch on the frame, the control joystick, the Bluetooth remote and the AC charger. Bangeran sells small add ons for its chairs including an LED light kit and a folding walking cane, and the joystick can be moved to either armrest without extra parts. A USB port and LED light are built into the chair for charging a phone and lighting the path ahead.

Key safety notes. Keep grades under 6 degrees and approach ramps straight on. The electromagnetic brake engages automatically whenever the joystick returns to center. Rear anti tip wheels are fitted from the factory and should stay on the chair. Remove the joystick before airline or cruise transport and carry the lithium battery per carrier instructions. The battery status light shows green when full, orange at half and red when it needs a charge.
Charging is simple. Plug the AC charger into either the port under the joystick or the port on the battery itself and allow 8 to 12 hours for a full charge. The 7 lb battery also slides out from under the frame after releasing a safety clip so you can charge it indoors away from the chair.
Daily driving runs through the 360 degree waterproof joystick, which can sit on the left or right armrest. The Bluetooth remote operates the chair from up to 10 yards, handy for a caregiver bringing the chair to the rider or parking it in a tight garage corner. Red release levers on each motor switch the Mammoth EX into free wheel mode so it can be pushed by hand with little resistance.
For transport the chair folds flat in seconds with no tools and the battery can stay in place while folding. Flip the armrests back, fold the footrest under the seat and the package measures 16.5 by 28.5 by 30 inches, small enough for most trunks and closets. I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated.
