Quick Overview

The Bangeran Mammoth EX is the wide seat member of the Mammoth family, built for riders who found standard folding power chairs too narrow or too lightly rated. Bangeran advertises 22 inches of seating room and the measured space between the armrests is 21.5 inches, paired with a 500 lb weight rating on a reinforced aircraft grade aluminum frame. Despite the bariatric rating the chair itself weighs 70 lbs without the battery, which keeps it in liftable territory for a caregiver loading a trunk.

Two 250W motors give the Mammoth EX 500W of combined power, enough for a steady 4 mph top speed and grades up to 6 degrees. The 24V 12Ah lithium battery delivers around 12 miles per charge, and four shock absorbers with two up front and two in back smooth out sidewalk joints, gravel and grass. An intelligent electromagnetic brake holds the chair the moment you release the joystick.

The whole chair folds flat to 16.5 by 28.5 by 30 inches with no tools, and a Bluetooth remote lets a caregiver fold, unfold or even drive the empty chair from up to 10 yards away. Flip back armrests make side transfers simple, the footrest folds twice to tuck under the seat, and the 360 degree waterproof joystick mounts on either armrest. The standard battery is TSA and FAA friendly so the Mammoth EX can board planes and cruise ships.

How to Purchase & What's Included

Can I order the Mammoth EX over the phone?

Yes. Call us toll free at 1-888-233-5563 and we will take care of everything. All we need is your payment method and your shipping address.

If you are still deciding, we are glad to talk you through the options and help you land on the right choice.

Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the Mammoth EX?

Most products in this range do not meet the strict medical device rules that Medicare and Medicaid use, so they rarely qualify for coverage. We do not work with Medicare and we do not bill private insurance directly.

Some private plans will reimburse you outside of the Medicare framework. The best way to find out is to call your insurer and ask. If they say yes, we are happy to provide an invoice and proof of purchase so you can file for reimbursement.

Notice to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare pays for equipment only when the supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have one, so Medicare will not pay for anything we sell you. You are personally and fully responsible for payment.

Financing & Monthly Payments

You can spread the cost of your Mammoth EX over time with Klarna. Choose monthly installments or a lease to own plan at checkout. The minimum monthly amount shows next to the price near the top of this page.

Documentation, Manuals & Safety

A printed user manual is included in the box and the official product page at bangeran.com hosts the spec sheet, FAQ and support contacts. Bangeran runs US phone support Monday through Friday from its Lake Forest California headquarters at 888 622 6476.

Key safety notes. Keep grades under 6 degrees and approach ramps straight on. The electromagnetic brake engages automatically whenever the joystick returns to center. Rear anti tip wheels are fitted from the factory and should stay on the chair. Remove the joystick before airline or cruise transport and carry the lithium battery per carrier instructions. The battery status light shows green when full, orange at half and red when it needs a charge.

Daily Operation & Transportation

Charging is simple. Plug the AC charger into either the port under the joystick or the port on the battery itself and allow 8 to 12 hours for a full charge. The 7 lb battery also slides out from under the frame after releasing a safety clip so you can charge it indoors away from the chair.

Daily driving runs through the 360 degree waterproof joystick, which can sit on the left or right armrest. The Bluetooth remote operates the chair from up to 10 yards, handy for a caregiver bringing the chair to the rider or parking it in a tight garage corner. Red release levers on each motor switch the Mammoth EX into free wheel mode so it can be pushed by hand with little resistance.

For transport the chair folds flat in seconds with no tools and the battery can stay in place while folding. Flip the armrests back, fold the footrest under the seat and the package measures 16.5 by 28.5 by 30 inches, small enough for most trunks and closets. The standard 12Ah battery meets TSA and FAA rules for air travel.

Common Questions

How much weight can the Bangeran Mammoth EX hold

The current Mammoth EX is rated for riders up to 500 lbs. There is 21.5 inches of space between the armrests, which Bangeran markets as its 22 inch wide seating area.

Can I take the Mammoth EX on an airplane or cruise

Yes. The standard 24V 12Ah lithium battery meets TSA and FAA rules, and Bangeran recommends removing the joystick before handing the chair to airline or cruise staff. Always confirm battery paperwork with your carrier before travel.

How far does it go on one charge

Around 12 miles on the standard 12Ah battery under typical conditions. Rider weight, hills and terrain shorten that figure, and the optional Double 12Ah package extends your time between charges.

Will it fit in my car trunk

Folded, the Mammoth EX measures 16.5 inches long by 28.5 inches wide by 30 inches tall. The armrests flip back, the footrest folds under the seat and the battery can stay installed while folding, so it drops into most sedan and SUV trunks.

Can a caregiver push the chair manually

Yes. Each rear motor has a red release lever that puts the chair in free wheel mode, letting it roll with minimal resistance. Flip the levers back to restore power drive and the electromagnetic parking brake.

What do the battery indicator colors mean

Green means the battery is fully charged, orange means roughly half charge and red means it is time to plug in. You can charge through the port under the joystick or directly on the removable battery.

How does the Mammoth EX differ from the standard Mammoth

The standard Mammoth has a 19.5 inch seat and a lower weight rating. The Mammoth EX widens the space between armrests to 21.5 inches, raises the rating to 500 lbs and adds a USB port and LED light while keeping the same 4 mph dual motor folding design.

What warranty comes with it

Bangeran covers the battery and joystick for 6 months and all other wheelchair parts for 1 year, with a 30 day return window from the brand. We help our customers coordinate any claim with Bangeran support.

Why buy the Mammoth EX from us?

  • We already carry the standard Bangeran Mammoth, so we can walk you through the real differences between the 19.5 inch seat on that chair and the wide 500 lb rated Mammoth EX before you spend a dollar.
  • Heavy duty chairs are our specialty and we will confirm the 21.5 inch armrest spacing and 500 lb rating actually fit your body and routine, not just sell the biggest number.
  • Our team answers the phone with real product knowledge and stays with you through delivery, setup questions and any Bangeran warranty claim.
  • We watch authorized Bangeran pricing closely and keep our price in line with the brand so you never overpay for the current generation chair.

Is Bangeran a Good Brand?

Bangeran is a California mobility manufacturer headquartered in Lake Forest that focuses on one thing, folding aluminum power wheelchairs. Its lineup spans the compact Hercules and Pegasus lines up through the heavy duty Mammoth family, and the brand sells through national retailers like Walmart as well as specialist mobility dealers across the US. Chairs are designed around travel with TSA and FAA friendly lithium batteries, remote controlled folding and airline ready joystick removal. Bangeran backs the Mammoth EX with a 1 year parts warranty plus 6 months on the battery and joystick, and runs its own US phone support line from the California office, so parts and help come from a domestic company rather than an anonymous import listing.
