The Pony Express 1061 Lithium is the compact walk behind electric tugger built for shifts that never stop. It hitches to the carts you already own and pulls loads up to 1,500 lb on a flat surface, and the lithium iron phosphate battery pack is hot swappable, so a fresh pack goes on in seconds and the tugger keeps working around the clock instead of sitting on a charger.
The body measures 24.5 inches wide and the hitch reach adjusts from 39 to 54 inches, so one tugger threads through tight hallways, corridors and manufacturing aisles and still fits carts of different lengths. The ergonomic tiller head is height adjustable for each operator, with thumb wheel controls for speed and direction and power on and high and low speed switches on the handle. Like the rest of the line it uses the exchangeable Pony Express hitching and hook system, and the EK Tech engineering team designs a custom hitch or hook when a cart needs one.
The 40 Ah lithium iron phosphate pack recharges in less than 3 hours on the external UL, cUL and CSA listed charger, which accepts 85 to 270 VAC single phase at 50 or 60 Hz. The battery management system gives a visual and audible signal when a pack should be recharged, and Bluetooth lets a supervisor watch battery status on a phone app rather than walking the floor to check. Two speed ranges cover 0 to 1.5 mph on the low setting and 0 to 3.0 mph on the high setting.
Safety is the same package that runs through every Pony Express tugger. Dead man operation brings the unit to a controlled stop when the operator lets go, an emergency belly button switch sits on the control head, an operator controlled 68 dB horn warns people ahead, and an automatic holding brake keeps a parked cart from moving on an incline. Noise stays under 65 dBA, the chassis is welded steel with a powder coated finish, and the drive wheel is puncture proof and non-marking. Need to move 2,000 lb? The 40 Ah lithium iron phosphate pack is hot swappable, so when the battery management system signals a low charge the operator lifts the pack off, drops a charged one on and carries on. That is what makes 24/7 operation practical, since the tugger never has to stand still on a charger during a shift.
Less than 3 hours on the external charger, which runs on 85 to 270 VAC single phase at 50 or 60 Hz and is UL, cUL and CSA listed. Nominal input current is 6A at 120 VAC and 2.9A at 240 VAC, so a standard wall outlet handles it.
It is rated for 1,500 lb on a flat surface. Real pull also depends on your casters and floor surface, and EKT sets the incline rating for each facility, so send us your cart weights and the grade of any ramps and we will confirm the model with the factory.
It removes charging from the schedule. When the pack on the tugger signals a low charge the operator swaps it for a charged pack and keeps moving, so one tugger can cover back to back shifts instead of being parked for hours. If you run a single shift, the standard AGM tugger may be all you need.
Both pull up to 1,500 lb and share the same 24.5 inch wide body, the same 39 to 54 inch adjustable hitch reach and the same controls. The AGM 1061 carries a 35 Ah pack that runs 8 hours and recharges in about 4 hours on an internal charger. The lithium 1061 carries a 40 Ah lithium iron phosphate pack, charges in less than 3 hours on an external charger and can be swapped mid shift.
Yes. The battery management system gives a visual and audible indicator on the tugger when a pack needs recharging, and Bluetooth connects the pack to a phone app so a supervisor can check the state of charge from anywhere in the building.
In most cases yes. It uses the exchangeable Pony Express hitching and hook system shared across the tugger line, and when a cart needs something different the EK Tech engineering team designs a custom hitch or hook for it. Send us photos and dimensions of your carts and we will spec it.

Each unit ships by freight carrier on a skid from the EK Tech factory in Wisconsin. Once your order is confirmed we give you the current factory lead time with your quote, and transit typically adds three to seven business days depending on your distance. We coordinate dock delivery or liftgate service with you when the build is scheduled.
Yes. As soon as your unit ships we email you a tracking link so you can follow it all the way to your dock.
The Pony Express 1061 Lithium comes with a 2 year warranty on the frame and drive system. It does not cover service or transportation costs, normal wear items, damage from misuse, unauthorized work or modifications, or outdoor storage. Shipping damage and incidental damages are also not covered. The warranty is valid for the original buyer with a sales receipt, and any warranty changes need approval from Electro Kinetic Technologies, LLC.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. Found the type of Scooter. I wanted to buy online not everyone has the kind of scooter. I have . Talked to Raphael Perlmann about the scooter I wanted.
