The Pony Express 1040-HDE is the heavy duty deck configuration in Electro Kinetic Technologies 1040 motorized platform cart family. It carries a full 1,000 lb load on an oversized 34.5 in wide by 52 in long powered deck, the widest and longest work surface in the 1040 line for bulky pallets, totes, and equipment that would overhang a standard cart. The 15 in deck height and welded powder-coated steel chassis match the rugged build offered across the Pony Express range.
Power comes from a front-wheel transaxle drive with a maintenance-free permanent magnet motor and a 44 Ah deep-cycle AGM battery that delivers up to 8 hours of operation and recharges in about 4 hours from the internal UL listed charger. Variable thumb control moves the cart from 0 to 3.0 mph, and the unit climbs grades up to 15 degrees fully loaded, so it handles ramps, docks, and inclines that defeat manual carts. Automatic dynamic braking, an electromagnetic parking brake, and a dead-man hands-off stop keep heavy loads under control.
Built in the USA and backed by a 5-year frame and motor warranty, the 1040-HDE suits manufacturing, warehousing, healthcare, and food service operations that move heavy, oversized loads. It shares its drivetrain, battery, and controls with the base 1040-E, so it fits cleanly alongside the rest of the Pony Express fleet.

The 1040-HDE uses the same drivetrain, battery, and controls as the 1040-E but adds a much larger 34.5 in wide by 52 in long deck at 15 in deck height. The standard 1040-E has a 24 in by 32 in deck at 12 in height. Both carry 1,000 lb and climb up to 15 degrees.
It carries up to 1,000 lb and climbs grades up to 15 degrees while fully loaded, so it handles ramps and loading docks that manual carts cannot.
The 44 Ah deep-cycle AGM battery provides up to 8 hours of operation on a charge and recharges in about 4 hours using the internal 120/240 VAC UL listed charger.
It travels from 0 to 3.0 mph on the high setting and 0 to 1.5 mph on the low setting using a variable-speed thumb control. It also includes a key switch, horn, emergency stop, and a dead-man control that brings the cart to a controlled stop when the operator releases the handle.

The Pony Express 1040-E Motorized Platform Carts comes with a 5-year warranty on the frame and motor. It doesn't cover service/transportation costs, normal wear items, damage from misuse, unauthorized work or modifications, and outdoor use. Shipping damage and incidental damages are also not covered. Warranty only valid for original buyer with a sales receipt. Any warranty changes need approval from Electro Kinetic Technologies, LLC.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. I am very thankful for the day I first saw the MOJO on the internet. I I now own my very own MOJO.

The person I talked with was very professional. He knew what products I may like, but in the end it was my choice of what to buy, or not buy.
