The Pony Express 1040-LE is the long deck member of the Electro Kinetic Technologies 1040 Extreme family. It pairs a 1,000 lb load rating with a 25.5 inch by 61 inch usable platform, so it carries the same heavy payload as the standard 1040-E but spreads it across a deck nearly twice as long. That extra length suits oversized cartons, long stock, and staged loads that overhang a shorter platform. The 15 inch deck height keeps the load surface at a comfortable working level for staging and transfer.
Power comes from an AC Vector Power motor driving a front wheel transaxle, fed by a 44 Ah AGM deep cycle battery that supports up to 8 hours of operation. The on board charger plugs into a standard 120 or 240 VAC outlet and brings the pack back to full in about 4 hours. Ergonomic thumb wheel controls give variable forward and reverse speed across two ranges, 0 to 1.5 mph in low and 0 to 3.0 mph in high, with a horn, key switch, and emergency stop built in. The 1040-LE handles inclines up to 12 degrees at full load and holds position on a grade with an automatic holding brake.

Both carry 1,000 lb. The 1040-E has a 24 in by 32 in deck while the 1040-LE has a longer 25.5 in by 61 in deck and a 15 in deck height, which makes it better for long or oversized loads. The 1040-LE is rated for inclines up to 12 degrees at full load.
The 44 Ah AGM battery supports up to 8 hours of operation. The charger is built in, so you plug into a standard 120 or 240 VAC outlet and a full recharge takes about 4 hours.
Speed is variable across two ranges, 0 to 1.5 mph in low and 0 to 3.0 mph in high. It climbs inclines up to 12 degrees at full load and holds position on a grade with the automatic holding brake.

It doesn't cover service/transportation costs, normal wear items, damage from misuse, unauthorized work or modifications, and outdoor use. Shipping damage and incidental damages are also not covered. Warranty only valid for original buyer with a sales receipt. Any warranty changes need approval from Electro Kinetic Technologies, LLC.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. I am very thankful for the day I first saw the MOJO on the internet. I I now own my very own MOJO.

The person I talked with was very professional. He knew what products I may like, but in the end it was my choice of what to buy, or not buy.
