The Avid by Merits Ultra HD P331 is the heavy duty powerbase in the Avid complex rehab line from Merits Health Products. It pairs a 450 lb weight capacity with a mid wheel drive layout that turns in just 21 inches, so larger riders get true indoor maneuverability without stepping up to a wide rear wheel drive frame. The base itself measures only 27 inches across, narrow enough for standard doorways and hallway turns.
Seating is where the Ultra HD separates from consumer heavy duty chairs. The 4 post rehab seat adjusts from 18 to 24 inches in width and 16 to 20 inches in depth, the backrest reclines from 90 to 110 degrees, and the factory can build the chair with power tilt up to 50 degrees plus positioning components, trunk supports and headrest choices. That makes the P331 a chair a supplier or clinician can actually fit to the rider rather than a one size frame.
Underneath, dual in line 2 pole 200W motors drive 12 inch wheels through front and rear suspension, clearing thresholds and uneven pavement while keeping the ride settled. A pair of 22NF batteries in a tool free battery box delivers up to 15.3 miles per charge with the 55Ah AGM option. The Ultra HD carries HCPCS code K0837 for Group 2 heavy duty power wheelchairs rated 301 to 450 lb.
This chair shipped for years as the Merits Vision Ultra HD and was folded into the new Avid by Merits rehab brand with the same P331 model number, so parts, manuals and service history all carry over.

Yes. Merits moved the Vision Ultra HD into its Avid by Merits rehab line and now markets it as the Ultra HD. The model number is still P331, so parts, manuals and service history all carry over.
The base is 27 in wide with a 21 in turning radius, so it turns tightly in hallways and bathrooms. Many home doors are 28 to 30 in, which leaves little room to spare, so measure the clear opening with the door fully open. It is 35 in long, or 45 in with the footplate.
Merits rates it for up to 15.3 miles with the two 55Ah 22NF batteries, and the flyer lists up to 8 miles with the smaller 33Ah U1 batteries. The chair takes two batteries in a tool free battery box, and a 6A off board charger refills them. Choose the larger batteries if you ride long distances.
Power seat tilt from 0 to 50 degrees is a factory option. The standard build has a manual angle adjustable backrest from 90 to 110 degrees, 21 to 23 in tall. The factory can also add positioning components, trunk supports and headrest choices.

The P331 carries HCPCS code K0837, the Group 2 heavy duty power wheelchair code for riders rated 301 to 450 lb. Medicare covers a power wheelchair only with a doctor's order and an enrolled supplier. I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. I am very thankful for the day I first saw the MOJO on the internet. I I now own my very own MOJO.

Found the type of Scooter. I wanted to buy online not everyone has the kind of scooter. I have . Talked to Raphael Perlmann about the scooter I wanted.
