The SuperHandy GoRide CRZ is built for riders who want a powerchair that travels as easily as they do. Instead of asking you to wrestle a 116 lb chair into a trunk in one piece, the CRZ separates into three sections in about a minute. The seat lifts off, the chassis splits at a yellow handle, and the heaviest section you ever pick up is the 57 lb front base. That makes it one of the few full function powerchairs in this price range that a single caregiver can realistically load into a sedan.
Getting in and out is where the CRZ really earns its keep. Lift the rotate lever and the seat swivels a full 90 degrees to the side, so you can transfer from a bed, car seat or sofa without twisting around the armrests. Seat height adjusts on four posts, the armrests adjust for width, height and angle, and the footboard has three mounting positions, so the chair can be dialed in to fit the rider rather than the other way around.
Under the base cover, twin 24V 250W motors drive the rear wheels and carry riders up to 300 lb at speeds up to 4 MPH. Two 12V 20Ah sealed lead acid batteries deliver up to 6.7 miles per charge and recharge overnight from the included 2A off board charger. Electromagnetic brakes hold the chair automatically the moment you release the joystick, and anti tip wheels back up the rear drive layout. The CRZ carries the same Class 2 certification as its bigger CRX sibling in a lighter, more travel friendly package.

The GoRide CRZ ships in one complete configuration in SuperHandy's signature orange and black, so there are no factory option boxes to tick. A few useful adjustments are built in rather than sold separately. The joystick controller mounts on either the left or right armrest and its depth is adjustable, the seat height changes on four adjustable posts, the armrests adjust for width, height and angle, and the footboard offers three height positions.
Every CRZ arrives with the items most riders need on day one. A lap belt is fitted for security, a rear reflector is installed for visibility, and the 2A off board charger is included in the carton. The batteries are standard 12V 20Ah sealed lead acid units, so replacement pairs are inexpensive and easy to source when the originals age out after a few hundred charge cycles. Key safety notes from the manual
Daily driving is handled from a simple joystick controller that mounts on either armrest. It has an on and off button, a battery gauge with red, orange and green lights, a speed dial and a horn. Push the joystick and the chair goes, release it and the electromagnetic brakes stop and hold the chair automatically. Two freewheel levers near the rear wheels let an attendant push the chair manually with the power off.
Charging is as easy as plugging the included 2A off board charger into the port on the utility tray and into a wall outlet. A full charge takes about 8 hours, so overnight charging is the natural routine. The sealed lead acid batteries are maintenance free, and SuperHandy recommends charging fully every time and topping up at least weekly if the chair sits unused.
For transport, power off, pull the seat rotate lever and lift the seat away, remove the base cover, unplug the battery connector if you want the lightest possible lift, then raise the yellow handle to split the chassis into front and rear halves. You are left with a 27 lb seat, a 32 lb rear base and a 57 lb front base that fit in most car trunks. Reassembly reverses the same steps with no tools.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated.
