The Ranger Discovery is an aluminum folding power wheelchair rated for 400 lbs with an 18.5 in seat. It weighs 50 lbs without batteries and folds in about 3 seconds. Two slide out lithium batteries give up to 20 miles of range at speeds up to 5 mph.
The Discovery is the entry point to Porto's Discovery line. The frame is aircraft grade aluminum, the seat measures 18.5 x 17 in at a 19 in seat height, and the open chair is 24 in wide. Both armrests flip up and the footrest folds flat, which clears the way for a side transfer to a bed or a car seat.
Two 250W brushless motors and electromagnetic brakes handle the driving. The two lithium batteries slide out from the sides of the chair, and you can charge them in place or off the chair on a counter. Porto describes the batteries as airline compliant.
The Discovery fits a rider up to 400 lbs who travels often and wants a chair that folds fast. It has 3.7 in of ground clearance and a 33 in turning radius for kitchens and hallways, and Porto rates it for slopes up to 25 degrees.
The three Discovery models share the 250W motors, the 5 mph top speed and a 50 lb frame weight. The standard Discovery has the narrowest seat at 18.5 in and a 400 lb rating, and Porto rates it for up to 20 miles. The Discovery XL and XXL open up to 21 in and 24 in between the armrests, carry 440 lbs and are listed for up to 18 miles.

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, as long as it comes back in new condition in its original boxes with all of its parts. A 15% restocking fee applies. You prepay the return shipping, and the original shipping charges are not refunded, so keep the boxes until you are sure. Items sold as open box cannot be returned.

Porto says the Discovery folds in about 3 seconds, and the folded chair measures 13 x 26 x 31 in. Slide the batteries out first if you plan to lift it, which keeps the weight to the 50 lb frame.
Both armrests flip up and the footrest folds flat, so nothing sits between the seat and the surface you are moving to. Line the chair up next to the bed, sofa or car seat, switch it off and slide across.
You can plug in with the batteries on the chair, or slide them out and charge them indoors while the chair stays in the car or garage. Extra batteries are available by phone.
Porto rates it for slopes up to 25 degrees. Take any slope slowly and straight on, never across it. It has 3.7 in of ground clearance for curb ramps and driveways, and the solid tires cannot go flat. Porto does not publish a water resistance rating for the Discovery, so keep it out of rain and standing water.
Folded, the Discovery measures 13 x 26 x 31 in and weighs 50 lbs without batteries. Measure your trunk opening against that size first, and call us if you want a second opinion.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated.
