Overview

Porto Mobility Ranger TorqueLite folding power wheelchair, side view facing left

The Ranger TorqueLite pairs a 43 lb carbon fiber frame with two 300W brushless motors, a 6 mph top speed and 14 in pneumatic rear tires. It is rated for 400 lbs, runs up to 17 miles on two 24V 10Ah lithium batteries and has a slot for a third battery on longer days.

Two 300W brushless motors put out 600W combined and give the TorqueLite a top speed of up to 6 mph. The 14 x 2.4 in rear tires are air filled, which softens bumps on cracked sidewalks, and the 8 in solid front wheels cannot go flat.

Range is up to 17 miles on two 24V 10Ah lithium batteries, and the battery system has room for a third. The carbon fiber frame weighs 43 lbs without batteries and carries riders up to 400 lbs. Porto rates the chair for outdoor use in light rain. It comes with a 19 in seat, and a 21 in XL seat is available by phone.

Who the TorqueLite Suits

The TorqueLite suits a rider who spends much of the day outdoors, where the extra motor power and the air filled rear tires help. Keep in mind the ground clearance is 2.6 in and the turning radius is 34.25 in, so tight indoor spaces and tall obstacles take more care than with a smaller chair.

How It Compares

Next to the SpacePro, the TorqueLite has the same 400 lb rating and 43 lb frame weight but steps up to 300W motors, 10Ah batteries and pneumatic rear tires. The SpacePro is rated slightly farther at up to 20 miles and has more ground clearance, while the TorqueLite is faster at 6 mph.

Warranty

What does the Ranger TorqueLite warranty cover?

Porto covers the frame for 3 years. The batteries, motors and controller are covered for 1 year.

Porto does not cover damage from abuse, such as taking it through deep water or dropping it. If something goes wrong, contact us first and we will take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

What motors does the Ranger TorqueLite have?

The TorqueLite uses two 300W brushless motors, 600W in total, with a top speed of up to 6 mph and a 25 degree climbing rating from Porto. The SpacePro chairs, which weigh the same 43 lbs without batteries, use two 250W motors.

What batteries does the Ranger TorqueLite use?

It runs on two 24V 10Ah lithium ion batteries that weigh 5 lbs each, and there is a slot for a third. Porto rates the pair for up to 17 miles and does not list a charging time.

Can I take the Ranger TorqueLite on a plane?

Porto describes the TorqueLite battery system as airline compliant. Each battery is rated 24V and 10Ah, which works out to 240 watt hours, and airlines set their own limits, so give yours that figure and the number of batteries before you book.

How do I order the Ranger TorqueLite?

Add it to your cart on this page and check out, which takes a few minutes. You can pay in full or choose Klarna to spread the cost over monthly payments.

Can I order the Ranger TorqueLite over the phone?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563 and we will place the order with you. All we need is your payment method and your shipping address. Extra batteries and other Porto accessories can be added to a phone order.

Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the Ranger TorqueLite?

We do not work with Medicare and we do not bill private insurance directly. Some private plans will reimburse you after you buy, so it is worth calling your insurer to ask. If they say yes, we are happy to provide an invoice and proof of purchase so you can file for reimbursement.

Notice to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare pays for equipment only when the supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have one, so Medicare will not pay for anything we sell you. You are personally and fully responsible for payment.

What comes with the Ranger TorqueLite?

Call us before you buy and we will confirm exactly what comes in the box.

How long until my Ranger TorqueLite arrives?

The Ranger TorqueLite ships from Porto Mobility. Porto quotes delivery in about 1 to 5 business days for models in stock, and we email you the expected ship date after you order. If you need it by a certain day, call us before you buy and we will check the timing.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. As soon as your order ships we email you a tracking link so you can follow it to your door.

Can I return the Ranger TorqueLite?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, as long as it comes back in new condition in its original boxes with all of its parts. A 15% restocking fee applies. You prepay the return shipping, and the original shipping charges are not refunded, so keep the boxes until you are sure. Items sold as open box cannot be returned.

Warranty problems are handled separately and do not count as a return. Please read the full returns policy for the details.

How does the TorqueLite handle outdoor riding?

The two 300W motors and 14 in air filled rear tires are what set it apart outdoors. Porto rates the chair for grades up to 25 degrees, so take slopes slowly and straight on. Ground clearance is 2.6 in, so take curbs and raised edges slowly and use curb cuts where you can.

How far will it go on a charge?

Porto rates it at up to 17 miles on two 24V 10Ah lithium batteries. There is a slot for a third battery if you want more range, and extra batteries are available by phone. Hills, cold weather and heavier loads all reduce range.

Can I ride it in the rain?

Porto rates the TorqueLite for outdoor use in light rain. Avoid heavy downpours and standing water, and dry the chair off before you fold and store it.

How do I care for the pneumatic tires?

Air filled tires ride softer than solid ones but need their pressure checked regularly. A tire that looks low will make the chair work harder and can shorten your range.

Will it fit in my car?

Folded, the TorqueLite measures 24.5 x 17 x 29.5 in (L x W x H). The frame weighs 43 lbs with the 5 lb batteries removed. Measure your trunk or cargo area before ordering.

Can I fly with it?

Porto describes the TorqueLite battery system as airline compliant. Airline rules for lithium batteries still vary, so confirm with your airline before you book and have the ratings ready, 24V and 10Ah per battery.

Is Porto Mobility a good brand?

Porto Mobility designs and sells folding power wheelchairs, lightweight folding mobility scooters and portable chair lifts. Its Ranger chairs fold small enough for a car trunk or SUV cargo area, on carbon fiber or aluminum alloy frames depending on the model, and Porto publishes a weight capacity for each chair, scooter and lift.

Porto's standard warranty covers the frame for 3 years and the electronics and batteries for 1 year, and some models carry different terms. When a covered part fails, Porto sends the replacement part and connects you with a local service provider. As an authorized dealer we stay your first point of contact and take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

How is my chair delivered?

Delivery to your curb is free. Check the packaging and the chair before you sign for it, and call 1-888-233-5563 if anything looks wrong.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Choose Klarna at checkout to pay over time. See how financing works.

Can I talk to someone before I buy?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563. Real people answer, business hours and weekends.
