Overview

Porto Mobility Ranger SpacePro Recliner reclining folding power wheelchair, side view with upright backrest

The Ranger SpacePro Recliner is the carbon fiber SpacePro with a backrest that reclines to 130 degrees and locks at any angle with a side lever. It carries up to 400 lbs, weighs 43 lbs without batteries, reaches 5 mph and travels up to 20 miles on two lithium batteries.

The Recliner is the SpacePro with a backrest that tips back as far as 130 degrees, held at whatever angle you choose by a lever on the side. You can lean back and rest during a long day out without getting out of the chair.

The rest of the chair follows the SpacePro. The carbon fiber frame weighs 43 lbs bare and 50 lbs with its two 3 lb lithium batteries, and the weight rating is 400 lbs. Two 250W brushless motors give a top speed of 5 mph and up to 20 miles of range, and the seat is 19 in wide between the armrests.

Key Features

  • Backrest reclines up to 130 degrees and locks at any angle with a side lever
  • Rated for riders up to 400 lbs
  • Carbon fiber frame weighs 43 lbs without batteries and 50 lbs with them
  • 19 in seat width between the armrests with a 20 in seat height
  • Two 250W brushless motors with a top speed of 5 mph
  • Up to 20 miles on two 24V 6Ah lithium ion batteries
  • Comes with a travel cover, under seat bag, seat belt, back pouch and tool kit

Using the Recline

Recline when the chair is stopped on level ground, and bring the backrest upright before you drive up or down a ramp or slope. Leaning back moves your weight toward the rear of the chair, and that matters most on a grade. This is our general guidance, so ask us if you want to talk through how you plan to use the recline.

How It Compares

Choose the Recliner over the standard SpacePro if you expect to sit for long stretches and want to change position. If you do not need recline, the SpacePro, SpacePro XL and SpacePro XXL give you the same frame and drive with seat widths of 19 in, 21 in and 23 in.

What does the Ranger SpacePro Recliner warranty cover?

How far does the Ranger SpacePro Recliner recline?

The backrest reclines to 130 degrees and locks at any angle with a side lever. Recline only when the chair is stopped on level ground, and sit upright on ramps and slopes.

What is the difference between the Ranger SpacePro and the SpacePro Recliner?

Both carry 400 lbs, weigh 43 lbs without batteries and go up to 20 miles on two 24V 6Ah batteries. The Recliner adds the reclining backrest and comes with a travel cover, an under seat bag, a seat belt, a back pouch and a tool kit. Porto lists its folded size as 13 x 31 x 31 in.

Can I take the Ranger SpacePro Recliner on a plane?

Each battery is rated 24V and 6Ah, which works out to 144 watt hours. Porto's listing makes no airline statement for the Recliner, so give your airline that figure and confirm before you book.

How do I order the Ranger SpacePro Recliner?

Add it to your cart on this page and check out, which takes a few minutes. You can pay in full or choose Klarna to spread the cost over monthly payments.

Can I order the Ranger SpacePro Recliner over the phone?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563 and we will place the order with you. All we need is your payment method and your shipping address. Extra batteries and other Porto accessories can be added to a phone order.

Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the Ranger SpacePro Recliner?

We do not work with Medicare and we do not bill private insurance directly. Some private plans will reimburse you after you buy, so it is worth calling your insurer to ask. If they say yes, we are happy to provide an invoice and proof of purchase so you can file for reimbursement.

Notice to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare pays for equipment only when the supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have one, so Medicare will not pay for anything we sell you. You are personally and fully responsible for payment.

What comes with the Ranger SpacePro Recliner?
  • Travel cover
  • Under seat bag
  • Seat belt
  • Back pouch
  • Tool kit

If you want to check the box contents before you buy, call us and we will confirm them.

How long until my Ranger SpacePro Recliner arrives?

The Ranger SpacePro Recliner ships from Porto Mobility. Porto quotes delivery in about 1 to 5 business days for models in stock, and we email you the expected ship date after you order. If you need it by a certain day, call us before you buy and we will check the timing.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. As soon as your order ships we email you a tracking link so you can follow it to your door.

Can I return the Ranger SpacePro Recliner?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, as long as it comes back in new condition in its original boxes with all of its parts. A 15% restocking fee applies. You prepay the return shipping, and the original shipping charges are not refunded, so keep the boxes until you are sure. Items sold as open box cannot be returned.

Warranty problems are handled separately and do not count as a return. Please read the full returns policy for the details.

How does the recline work?

Use the lever on the side of the chair to release the backrest, lean back to the angle you want and it locks there. The backrest goes as far as 130 degrees.

How does the Recliner drive?

Two 250W brushless motors give a top speed of up to 5 mph, and Porto rates the chair for grades up to 25 degrees. Take slopes slowly and straight on with the backrest upright. It turns in a 31 in radius, which helps in hallways and kitchens. Porto publishes no water resistance rating, so keep the chair out of rain and standing water.

How far will it go on a charge?

Porto rates it at up to 20 miles on two 24V 6Ah lithium ion batteries. Hills, cold weather and heavier loads reduce that, so keep a margin on long days. Extra batteries are available by phone.

How do I fold it?

The Recliner folds to 13 x 31 x 31 in. Pull the two 3 lb batteries before you lift it and you are handling 43 lbs instead of 50. Call us if you want us to walk you through the fold.

Will it fit in my car?

It folds to 13 x 31 x 31 in. The included travel cover keeps the folded chair clean in the car. Measure your opening before you order.

Can I fly with it?

Each battery is a 24V 6Ah lithium ion pack weighing 3 lbs. Airlines and cruise lines set their own rules for lithium batteries, so share those figures with your carrier and confirm before you book.

Is Porto Mobility a good brand?

Porto Mobility designs and sells folding power wheelchairs, lightweight folding mobility scooters and portable chair lifts. Its Ranger chairs fold small enough for a car trunk or SUV cargo area, on carbon fiber or aluminum alloy frames depending on the model, and Porto publishes a weight capacity for each chair, scooter and lift.

Porto's standard warranty covers the frame for 3 years and the electronics and batteries for 1 year, and some models carry different terms. When a covered part fails, Porto sends the replacement part and connects you with a local service provider. As an authorized dealer we stay your first point of contact and take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

How is my chair delivered?

Delivery to your curb is free. Check the packaging and the chair before you sign for it, and call 1-888-233-5563 if anything looks wrong.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Choose Klarna at checkout to pay over time. See how financing works.

Can I talk to someone before I buy?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563. Real people answer, business hours and weekends.
