The GIO Golf is a fully enclosed four wheel mobility scooter with a car-like cabin. You steer with handlebars and a right-hand twist throttle, start it with a keyless remote fob, and ride with a driver's seat up front and a rear bench for a passenger or cargo, all on a steel frame.
Top speed is 18 mph from a 1200 watt motor, with three speed settings and reverse so you can slow it down in crowded or tight areas. Note that the multifunction LCD display shows metric readouts only, so speed appears in kilometers per hour.
The specifications do not say the GIO Golf is certified as a low speed vehicle. Federal LSV rules cover four wheel vehicles from 20 to 25 mph built to FMVSS 500. Road, bike lane and sidewalk rules for mobility scooters vary by state and city, so check with your state DMV or city first. It does have LED headlights, turn signals, a horn and a backup camera.
The GIO Golf is rated for up to 45 miles on a full charge from its 60 volt 58Ah battery, and a full charge takes 8 to 10 hours. That rating is a best case. Hills, a passenger or cargo, cold weather and steady top speed driving all shorten it.
Yes. The rear bench is 33 in wide and 16 in deep and holds a passenger or cargo. The 500 lb load capacity covers the driver, the passenger and everything carried together, so add up all three before you plan two-up rides.
The step-in height is 14 in and the footboard sits 12 in off the ground. The driver's seat is 14 in wide, reclines, and slides on tracks for extra legroom. The cabin measures about 37 x 48 x 31 in from console to rear bench, so check the 14 in seat width if you need a wider seat.
The cabin is fully enclosed with a windshield wiper, roll-down side windows, a heater and a fan. It can be driven in wet conditions, but use extra caution and avoid larger puddles so water does not reach the internal electronics. Cold weather also shortens battery range.
It is rated for inclines up to 17 degrees and rides on large tires made for grass, gravel and paved paths, with front disc and rear drum brakes. Drive straight up and down slopes rather than across them, and slow down on loose surfaces.

You accelerate by gently twisting the throttle grip on the right handlebar, and a red button next to it switches between three speed gears. An R N D switch selects reverse, neutral or drive. To slow or stop, release the throttle and squeeze both brake levers. The motor cuts out while the brakes are on.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. I am very thankful for the day I first saw the MOJO on the internet. I I now own my very own MOJO.
