Quick Overview

The Forcemech Ultralite G20 is a 2026 model folding power wheelchair built around a CARBOFLEXION frame made entirely of carbon fiber. The frame alone brings the chair down to 25 lbs without its battery, and the removable ForceMax lithium pack adds only 3 lbs more. That puts the whole package at roughly the weight of a carry-on suitcase, so most owners can lift it into a sedan trunk or an SUV cargo area without help.

Despite the featherweight build, the G20 carries riders up to 300 lbs. A 250W motor system moves the chair at up to 4.5 mph, and the 24V 12.5Ah battery delivers up to 12 miles of driving on a charge. A tight 28 inch turning radius makes it easy to maneuver through grocery aisles, doctor's office hallways and hotel rooms.

Travel is where the G20 shines. It folds in seconds to a 29 by 10 by 28 inch package, and the ForceMax battery is designed to comply with FAA guidelines so the chair can travel with you on flights and cruise ships. Forcemech backs the frame with a 5 year warranty and lifetime owner support.

The G20 comes in three finishes, Sapphire Azure Blue, Crimson Forge Red and Imperial Violet Purple, each with the same upgraded ergonomic seating with an 18 inch wide seat and an all directional smart controller for intuitive joystick driving.

Options & Upgrades

Accessories

Because the ForceMax battery is removable, many owners add a second pack and keep one on charge at home. The wireless Bluetooth remote controller is the most popular companion accessory since it lets a family member reposition the chair without the rider aboard. Forcemech also makes GlowGuard foldable walking canes that pack down alongside the folded chair for riders who alternate between walking short distances and driving.

How to Purchase & What's Included

Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the Ultralite G20?

Most products in this range do not meet the strict medical device rules that Medicare and Medicaid use, so they rarely qualify for coverage. We do not work with Medicare and we do not bill private insurance directly.

Some private plans will reimburse you outside of the Medicare framework. The best way to find out is to call your insurer and ask. If they say yes, we are happy to provide an invoice and proof of purchase so you can file for reimbursement.

Notice to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare pays for equipment only when the supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have one, so Medicare will not pay for anything we sell you. You are personally and fully responsible for payment.

Documentation, Manuals & Safety

Official Forcemech documentation for the Ultralite G20

Key safety notes. Automatic electromagnetic brakes engage the moment the joystick is released, stopping the chair within 39 inches from top speed. Keep to slopes of 12 degrees or less and cross obstacles no taller than 1 inch. Before flying or cruising, confirm current battery and mobility device policies with your airline or cruise line even though the ForceMax pack is designed to FAA guidelines. Always buckle the adjustable seat belt before driving.

Daily Operation & Transportation

Charging. The ForceMax 24V 12.5Ah lithium pack charges on or off the chair. Since the battery weighs just 3 lbs and lifts out, you can bring it inside to charge while the chair stays in the car.

Controls. The all directional smart controller mounts at the armrest and drives the chair with simple joystick input. Release the joystick and the electromagnetic brakes hold the chair automatically, including on ramps.

Folding and transport. The G20 folds in a few quick steps to 29 by 10 by 28 inches, about the footprint of a folded stroller. At 25 lbs without the battery it loads into sedan trunks, SUV cargo areas, RV bays and closet corners. For air travel, remove the battery and follow your airline's lithium battery procedure at check in.

Storage. Store the chair folded in a dry indoor space and top up the battery periodically if the chair sits unused for several weeks.

Common Questions

How much does the Forcemech Ultralite G20 weigh

The chair weighs 25 lbs without its battery and the removable ForceMax lithium pack adds about 3 lbs. Most owners can lift the folded chair into a car trunk without assistance.

What is the difference between the Ultralite G20 and the G20 PRO

Both share the same carbon fiber frame, battery, motor and folding design. The G20 PRO adds integrated LED lighting for low light visibility while the standard G20 keeps a more streamlined build at a lower price.

Can I take the Ultralite G20 on an airplane or cruise

Yes. The ForceMax 24V 12.5Ah lithium battery is designed to comply with FAA guidelines for air travel and the chair folds to 29 by 10 by 28 inches. Always confirm current battery policies with your airline or cruise line before departure.

How far can the Ultralite G20 go on a charge

The 24V 12.5Ah lithium battery delivers up to 12 miles of range per charge. Adding a second ForceMax battery doubles your travel day capacity since packs swap in seconds.

What is the weight capacity of the Ultralite G20

The CARBOFLEXION carbon fiber frame supports riders up to 300 lbs even though the chair itself weighs only 25 lbs without the battery.

Is the Ultralite G20 hard to fold

Is Forcemech a Good Brand?

Forcemech is a US mobility brand focused on one thing, ultralight travel power wheelchairs. Its lineup runs from the Navigator and Voyager series to the current carbon fiber Ultralite generation, and the G20 sits at the heart of that 2026 range. Forcemech engineers its own CARBOFLEXION carbon fiber frames and ForceMax battery packs rather than rebadging generic hardware, and it stands behind the build with a 5 year frame warranty, lifetime owner support and a US based authorized dealer network for service. Thousands of riders use Forcemech chairs for flights, cruises and daily errands, which is exactly the use case the brand designs around.
