Many heavy-duty/recreational mobility scooters do not qualify as medical devices under Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance strict rules. Though you might be disabled and using the device in a full medical sense, Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance seem to want to save as much money as they can, and do so by making the rules about which models qualify very strict.You might have spent significant time trying to find a Medicare/Medicaid provider online, to no avail. This is because it’s actually very hard for dealers to become Medicare providers, again making it hard for patients to get free scooters, again saving the insurance money.We don’t work with Medicare. We also do not bill private insurances directly. Some private insurances may reimburse you outside of Medicare’s framework. To check if your insurer does this, we recommend contacting them directly and asking. How long from the time of order until I get my EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter?
This very much depends on two factors: the stock status above and how far you are from Washington, where most EZRAIDER HD4 mobility scooter ship out from.Bear in mind, different colors of the same model can have different stock statuses.The stock status for this scooter can be seen just under the product title at the top of the page.
This item can ship out as soon as the same business day the order is placed. Once shipped out, you can expect a transit time 4-5 business days.Please note these are indicative times and can vary based on how far you are from the supplier warehouse and the volume of orders being received. Also note that upgrades or extra accessory additions to your order may require extra time for installation.
If a EZRAIDER Access™ scooter is showing LEAD TIME with a number of weeks indicated, the estimated ship out time is that lead time plus standard ship out and transit time indicated in the paragraph above.

Why are there such long lead times on some mobility scooters?
Covid has dealt a horrible blow to pretty much every industry on the planet. Right from mining materials to processing them to the factories that produce parts, shipping and freight companies - at every stage of the chain there are workforce shortages and severe delays.
My EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter is showing a long lead time above. Why should I buy a scooter now if in any case I won’t get it right away?
Unfortunately, the way things are nowadays, with delays across the entire supply chain, if you wait until there is no lead time on your scooter, you might end up waiting forever. As soon as new stock comes in, it is assigned to orders that were already placed, sometimes weeks in advance. We don’t know how soon the situation will get better - and it may actually get worse before getting better again.
For this reason, customers are placing their orders as soon as they are able, to be placed on the list for as soon as the next scooters are ready to ship.
Where will my EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter ship from?
EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooters generally ship from the main warehouse in Kent, WA.
Who will ship my EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter?
EZRAIDER Access™ are almost always shipped by R&L Carriers - a freight and trucking company. In most instances, your scooter is delivered by 18-wheeler, unless you choose white glove delivery.
How does the EZRAIDER Access™ mobibility scooter arrive – is any setup required?
If you choose white glove delivery, your scooter will be 100% ready to ride. With standard delivery, the scooter is pretty much assembled ready to ride, including batteries which are preinstalled. You just need to go through a few simple steps.
Your scooter will be boxed in cardboard and fastened with the use of tie-downs. We advise you to come prepared with a sharp pair of scissors/knife.
You can simply cut the cardboard box open, cut the tie downs and roll your scooter off the crate.
Your scooter will be partially charged, enough to ride it into your home for charging.
Note the wheels might have some air let out for safety during transit. You should top them up to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer in the user’s manual.

How do I book a delivery appointment slot for my EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter?
The shipping company delivering your scooter will call you to arrange delivery. We will also give you their number so you can call them to preemptively arrange an appointment.
What if I miss my delivery appointment slot for my EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter?
If you miss your delivery appointment, the shipping company will usually take your scooter back to their local terminal in your area and try to reschedule an appointment. There is usually no charge for one extra appointment. Please contact us to keep us in the loop if you do miss your appointment so we can ensure the scooter isn’t sent all the way back to the place of origin.
What if my order hasn’t arrived by the time it was supposed to?
Especially since Covid, which made the truck driver shortage issue even worse than it was, your shipment might be delayed. If this happens, please call us 1-888-233-5563, or the number of the shipping company we provide you with so you can get an update on your shipping status.
What happens if my order for an EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter is damaged?
When your scooter arrives, do not sign any forms until you have opened the boxes and ascertained that everything is as it should be.
If the external boxes are damaged, make sure to note this next to your signature. Make sure to inspect the contents before signing.
If your scooter is damaged in a way that the entire scooter needs to be replaced, just refuse the entire delivery.
If your scooter is damaged in a way that a spare part needs to be sent out and installed (eg a broken mirror), accept the delivery, and list any damaged items next to your signature.
If you find damage after having signed for delivery without any damage notes, this can be really problematic as the shipping company may try to shift the blame onto you. This is why it’s important to check for damage, especially if the outside boxes are damaged.
What happens if my EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter breaks down?
Sometimes we are able to troubleshoot with you over the phone to fix the issue. In other cases, it’s a matter of shipping out a simple part, say if a knob needs replacing, under warranty conditions.
If necessary, we will send out a technician to your home to repair your scooter within 1 years of purchase, or longer if you purchased further warranty plans in the “Options & Upgrades” section on this page. This includes everything besides wear & tear (such as seat wear, flat tire etc.) and the batteries, which are covered for 1 year by their manufacturer.
Depending on your location, it might take a few days to locate a local technician, arrange an appointment etc. This warranty service is not intended as an emergency breakdown service. If you are stuck and need urgent help, call 911.
Please note, it’s really important we don’t send technicians out for nothing, so to be open with you from the start, we will let you know that if a technician comes out for a problem which isn’t under warranty or was a user error, you may be charged for this visit.

This item is shipped directly from the manufacturer, and since the manufacturer does not accept any returns, we are unable to accept returns for this product. We strongly recommend carefully reviewing all product details and ensuring this is the right choice for you before completing your purchase.
Do I need vehicle insurance to ride the EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter as is needed with a motor vehicle?
Though we cannot guarantee for all states and localities, wherever we have put this question to the law enforcement of any particular area, we have always been told this scooter does not need insurance.

May the EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter be driven on pedestrian sidewalks?
Though we cannot guarantee for all states and localities, wherever we have put this question to the law enforcement of any particular area, we have always been told that since this mobility scooter is used by and designed for disabled people, it may be ridden on pedestrian sidewalks, as long as this is done within reason.
This means riding at a safe speed where others are around and being considerate of the other users that share the sidewalk.
How can I avoid my EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter from being stolen?
Your EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter comes with a unique ignition key, and much like a car, cannot be started without it.
You can easily attach a motion alarm which is triggered if someone moves the scooter whilst it’s locked. For more information on these alarms, please call us at 1-888-233-5563.
You can also purchase a GPS tracker which beams the current location of your scooter wherever it is. This way, even if a thief takes your scooter, you and the police can track its exact location.
It’s best to store your scooter indoors if you’re able to do so.

I only have use of my left hand. Can the EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter work for left handed users? Can the EZRAIDER HD4 mobility scooter be operated with one hand?
This scooter’s throttle/accelerator lever can be placed either on the right or left side. Please ask us for this modification before ordering.
Can I ride the EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter in the rain, snow, wind and hot sun?
Rain: It’s OK and safe if you get caught in the rain once in a while, or go through an occasional puddle, but you should try to avoid a trip if you know it’s going to rain.
Snow and ice: We cannot take responsibility for using the scooter in these kinds of weather conditions.
Cold weather: Fine, though it does negatively impact the battery health and lifetime.
Wind: Generally not an issue unless very strong winds that could tip the scooter over.
If you have a mobility scooter with a canopy, remember, very strong winds can act as a sail to tip over your scooter.
Hot sun: No issue as far as the scooter is concerned. Remember to take along ample hydration!
Do the EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter batteries need maintenance?
This mobility scooter uses maintenance-free batteries which do not need any care until they die, after around 3 years of use.
How often should my EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter be inspected?
It’s a good idea to have your scooter checked once a year by a qualified technician.

Transportation
Will the EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter fit in my car trunk/truck bed?
This scooter will not fit in the vast majority of car trunks. It will however fit on most pickup truck beds.
If you’re planning on transporting your mobility scooter on a pickup truck bed, you’ll probably need a ramp to get the scooter up onto the truck bed.

I don’t have a large enough vehicle to transport the EZRAIDER Access™ mobility scooter. What are my options?
Electric lift: The most common solution is to purchase a platform-style vehicle lift, which sits on your trailer hitch.
If you don’t have a trailer hitch on your vehicle, you’ll need to have one installed. The platform lowers right down to road level, you ride the scooter onto the platform, secure the scooter with provided straps and then activate a lift which raises the platform a few feet off the ground.
You’ll need a vehicle that can take a max tongue weight of at least 500 lbs, so this won’t work for saloon and hatchback vehicles.
Manual Platform: Like an electric lift, this has a platform which sits on your trailer hitch, but this platform does not rise and decened, instead, it has a built-in ramp which flips out, allowing you to roll the scooter up onto the platform.
You’ll need a vehicle that can take a max tongue weight of at least 500 lbs, so this won’t work for saloon and hatchback vehicles.
Scooter trailer: This is a full-fledged trailer on its own wheels, which attaches to your trailer hitch.
There is just one company that designs and produces a trailer specifically for mobility scooters, or you can just get any generic trailer whose specifications match the S4 in terms of weight and dimensions.

Auto Fold
I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. I am very thankful for the day I first saw the MOJO on the internet. I I now own my very own MOJO.

It maintains it's speed while ascending the hills in the small town, where I live. Heavy Duty Mobility was by my side throughout the entire purchase process. Heavy duty mobility was willing to beat the price as they had a 5% discount. They were also. Extremely kind and helpful. They answered all my questions and what they did not know. They contacted the company to find out and got back to me the same day. They kept me in the loop with shipping and also reached out to me to confirm receipt and to make sure everything was correct and working properly. Very impressed

Found the type of Scooter. I wanted to buy online not everyone has the kind of scooter. I have . Talked to Raphael Perlmann about the scooter I wanted. I was a little hesitant at first because they were from Florida. After talking to Raphael I felt a much more comfortable about the idea of having a scooter shipped all across the country am in Seattle WA.
The scooter arrived,in shipping and had a torn seat. Ops Raphael took care of the problem got me a new seat ASP negotiated with the makers of my scooter.for me.
Couple months into having my scooter. I had an issue with the wheel making a noise..
Called my dealer Raphael he worked tirelessly negotiating with the maker of the Scooter to make sure the issue got fixed .
Would’ve loved not to have any issues with my new scooter, but knowing Raphael was on my side, helping me anytime there was an issue to get the problem fixed was a huge blessing.
Raphael Perlmann Has restored my faith in Customer service .
So many companies sell your product and then they don’t care they got their money !
Not that way at heavy mobility scooters store .
I have seen that this company and Raphael Perlmann cares about their customers after the sell.

They are very professional, they listen to what you would like to have, and they may make suggestions, but the decisions are up to you.
The person I talked with was very professional.
He knew what products I may like, but in the end it was my choice of what to buy, or not buy.
There was no pressure, just suggestions I appreciate people who don't pressure you into buying something.
