With standard delivery, accessories are not assembled on the scooter at time of delivery. With white glove delivery, MIA FOUR accessories will be attached and Diestco accessories can be attached by request.

We sell all our scooters at the minimum price (MAP) the manufacturer allows us to advertise for. If we advertise for cheaper, we could be prosecuted. This means we are cheaper or at the same price as all dealers complying with the rules. If you find another site selling for cheaper, we will price match, so long as they are within MAP. Scooters can be expensive because of the following reasons: The recent skyrocketing of shipping prices, coupled with rising inflation, have made these scooters significantly more expensive than they were, say one year ago.

Many heavy-duty/recreational mobility scooters do not qualify as medical devices under Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance strict rules. Though you might be disabled and using the device in a full medical sense, Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance seem to want to save as much money as they can, and do so by making the rules about which models qualify very strict. You might have spent significant time trying to find a Medicare/Medicaid provider online, to no avail. This is because it’s actually very hard for dealers to become Medicare providers, again making it hard for patients to get free scooters, again saving the insurance money. We don’t work with Medicare. We also do not bill private insurances directly. Some private insurances may reimburse you outside of Medicare’s framework. To check if your insurer does this, we recommend contacting them directly and asking. If they say yes, we’re happy to provide invoices/proof of purchases so you can get your money back from your insurer. Medicare will pay for medical equipment and supplies only if a supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have a Medicare supplier number. After your order for the MIA FOUR 4x4 is placed, you will see a screen that looks like this one: You will also receive an email confirmation, detailing the item you brought and the price you paid. As soon as your item ships, we will send you an email containing a tracking link. Clicking on this link will allow you to track the shipping progress of your scooter. If you chose standard, curbside delivery at checkout: The shipping company will call you to schedule a delivery appointment - you don’t have to take the first day available - you can delay receiving your scooter for a couple of days if that works better for you. We will also provide you with their number so you can call to preemptively arrange an appointment, or incase they fail to call you. The shipping company will call you usually within an hour of delivery, to let you prepare yourself at the curbside nearest to your home. The truck (very often an 18-wheeler) will deposit your scooter on the curbside, on a wooden crate. For more info on unpacking, see the question below “How does my product arrive, is any setup required?” If you choose White Glove Delivery at checkout: The scooter will be sent to a technician in your area for setup. Once they have set it up (usually 1-2 business days), they will give you a call to arrange delivery. You have paid for a premium service, so here you can really ask the tech to deliver at any time that suits you, delay for some time if you aren’t ready for delivery, etc. If in doubt, just call us at 1-888-233-5563. At the time of delivery appointment, the local technician will bring the scooter right into your house, wherever you want it. In most cases, the tech will be able to advise you on how to operate the scooter.

This very much depends on two factors: the stock status above and the processing and shipping time.  Bear in mind, different colors of the same model can have different stock statuses. The stock status for this scooter can be seen just under the product title at the top of the page.

• This item is picked up by UPS/FedEx within 1 to 3 business days after the order is placed. After processing and leaving the warehouse, items usually take between 4 and 21 days (for free shipping) to arrive at their destination but can take longer from time to time. Please note these are indicative times and can vary based on how far you are from the supplier warehouse and the volume of orders being received. Also note that upgrades or extra accessory additions to your order may require extra time for installation.

Covid has dealt a horrible blow to pretty much every industry on the planet. Right from mining materials to processing them to the factories that produce parts, shipping and freight companies - at every stage of the chain there are workforce shortages and severe delays.

Unfortunately, the way things are nowadays, with delays across the entire supply chain, if you wait until there is no lead time on your scooter, you might end up waiting forever. As soon as new stock comes in, it is assigned to orders that were already placed, sometimes weeks in advance. We don’t know how soon the situation will get better - and it may actually get worse before getting better again.

For this reason, customers are placing their orders as soon as they are able, to be placed on the list for as soon as the next scooters are ready to ship.

MIA FOUR 4x4 Light Electric QuadBoard scooters are almost always shipped by UPS/FedEx Carriers - a freight and trucking company. In most instances, your scooter is delivered by 18-wheeler, unless you choose white glove delivery.

The MIA FOUR 4x4 comes in a cardboard box, pretty much fully assembled and ready to ride.

The shipping company delivering your scooter will call you to arrange delivery. We will also give you their number so you can call them to preemptively arrange an appointment.

If you miss your delivery appointment, the shipping company will usually take your scooter back to their local terminal in your area and try to reschedule an appointment. There is usually no charge for one extra appointment. Please contact us to keep us in the loop if you do miss your appointment so we can ensure the scooter isn’t sent all the way back to the place of origin.

Especially since Covid, which made the truck driver shortage issue even worse than it was, your shipment might be delayed. If this happens, please call us 1-888-233-5563, or the number of the shipping company we provide you with so you can get an update on your shipping status.

• When your scooter arrives, do not sign any forms until you have opened the boxes and ascertained that everything is as it should be.
• If the external boxes are damaged, make sure to note this next to your signature. Make sure to inspect the contents before signing.
• If your scooter is damaged in a way that the entire scooter needs to be replaced, just refuse the entire delivery.
• If your scooter is damaged in a way that a spare part needs to be sent out and installed (eg a broken mirror), accept the delivery, and list any damaged items next to your signature.
• If you find damage after having signed for delivery without any damage notes, this can be really problematic as the shipping company may try to shift the blame onto you. This is why it’s important to check for damage, especially if the outside boxes are damaged.

Sometimes we are able to troubleshoot with you over the phone to fix the issue. In other cases, it’s a matter of shipping out a simple part, say if a knob needs replacing, under warranty conditions.

If necessary and you have an in-home service warranty, we will send out a technician to your home to repair your scooter. The time this is valid for varies according to the plan you purchased in the “Options & Upgrades” section on this page. This includes everything besides wear & tear (such as seat wear, flat tire etc.) and the batteries, which have a different warranty policy.

Depending on your location, it might take a few days to locate a local technician, arrange an appointment etc. This warranty service is not intended as an emergency breakdown service. If you are stuck and need urgent help, call 911.

Please note, it’s really important we don’t send technicians out for nothing, so to be open with you from the start, we will let you know that if a technician comes out for a problem which isn’t under warranty or was a user error, you may be charged for this visit.

The MIA FOUR 4x4 includes a 12-month limited warranty. During this period, if any parts need to be replaced, we will provide and ship these parts to you at no extra cost. Please note, that this warranty does not cover the labor costs for fitting these parts. It also does not cover normal wear and tear on parts like tires, or damages that happen because of accidents or improper use. If your scooter arrives damaged from transit and is completely unusable, we will replace it. However, if the damage does not render the scooter totally unusable, the warranty does not cover the labor costs for repairs. You can always purchase replacement parts at any time, and we will ship them to you. The warranty begins immediately following purchase.

After the warranty period, you are still welcome to contact us at any time.

Parts are available through us or the manufacturer, though you will be charged for these.

Yes, this mobility scooter comes with a full lighting package – a powerful headlight - rear lights as well as front - and rear turn signals. Riding in the dark isn’t for everyone though and you should carefully consider the safety of doing this in your area, even with a full lighting package on your scooter.

The MIA FOUR 4x4 Light Electric QuadBoard is super easy to drive and control.

Remember, this is a scooter which was designed from scratch for seniors and those with disabilities. It takes into account that you might have slower reaction times and has automatic braking whenever you let go of the throttle.

It also features slow-speed mode for confined areas or whilst you’re building up your driving skills and want to go a little slower.

Acceleration/reverse is achieved by a lever in the handlebars, and braking is automatic when you let go of the brakes.

Due to the safety automatic brakes which kick in every time you let go of the throttle, your driving might seem a little jerky at first, but most people catch on very quickly and learn to use the throttle and brakes in a way that gives a smooth ride.

This scooter uses wig-wag throttle acceleration, meaning you can control it with one hand, without any modifications needed.

• Rain: It’s OK and safe if you get caught in the rain once in a while, or go through an occasional puddle, but you should try to avoid a trip if you know it’s going to rain.
• Snow and ice: We cannot take responsibility for using the scooter in these kinds of weather conditions.
• Cold weather: Fine, though it does negatively impact the battery health and lifetime.
• Wind: Generally not an issue unless very strong winds that could tip the scooter over. If you have a mobility scooter with a canopy, remember, very strong winds can act as a sail to tip over your scooter.
• Hot sun: No issue as far as the scooter is concerned. Remember to take along ample hydration!

This mobility scooter uses maintenance-free batteries which do not need any care until they die, after around 3 years of use.
