Overview

Side view of the MIA Four X2 scooter folded flat for compact storage

This package sets up the MIA FOUR X2 as a seated all terrain mobility scooter. Compare it with the other 4x4 mobility scooters and seated models we sell. The MIA seat on its seat holder, the MIA 0% tilt limiter set and a top speed set to 12 mph are all included in the price.

A standard MIA FOUR leans into turns like a motorcycle, which suits a rider who stands. The tilt limiters lock that lean, so the scooter stays upright when it is parked, while you get on and off, and at walking pace. It no longer leans through corners, so you slow down before a turn the way you would on any mobility scooter.

Key features

  • MIA padded seat with a backrest and armrests, mounted on the MIA seat holder, included
  • MIA 0% tilt limiter set, included, keeps the scooter upright at low speed
  • Top speed set to 12 mph
  • Two wheel drive as standard, four wheel drive (MIA FOUR X4) as a $3,750 upgrade
  • Up to 50 miles per charge with two wheel drive and up to 60 miles with four wheel drive
  • Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes
  • Rider weight up to 300 lbs, or 330 lbs with four wheel drive

Two wheel drive or four wheel drive

The base package is built on the MIA FOUR X2. It drives two wheels with a 3600W peak dual hub motor and is rated for slopes up to 11.31°, which covers grass, gravel, dirt tracks and park paths.

For steep hills, mud, snow or soft sand, choose the 4x4 upgrade. It swaps in the MIA FOUR X4, which has a 7200W motor driving all four wheels, 7 inches of ground clearance, a 35 Ah battery and a climbing rating of 30°. The seat, the tilt limiters and the 12 mph setting stay the same.

Who it suits

Riders who want to sit, who need the scooter to stand steady while they get on, and who ride off pavement. You steer with handlebars rather than a joystick, so please call us first if you need one. If you want the standing MIA that leans into turns at full speed, see the MIA FOUR X2 and MIA FOUR X4 pages.

MIA Dynamics manufacturer warranty

MIA vehicles are covered by a manufacturer warranty from Mia Dynamics Inc. The warranty covers manufacturer defects only and begins on the date of purchase. Vehicles are covered for 12 months or up to 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Parts with serial numbers are covered for 12 months, while non-serial parts are covered for 30 days. Labor is not included and is the customer’s responsibility.

To qualify for warranty coverage, vehicles and serial-numbered parts must be registered. Units shipped directly from MIA are registered automatically. Units purchased through a dealer must be registered by the customer, and the unit must have 50 miles or less to be considered new.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cosmetic issues, damage from accidents, misuse, extreme weather, unauthorized modifications, software tampering, or use of non-genuine parts. Any modification that allows the unit to exceed 25 MPH will void the warranty.

For warranty help or questions, contact Heavy Duty Mobility and our team will guide you through the next steps.

How do I add accessories to the MIA Mobility Scooter Package? Which Accessories are available?

A full list of accessories can be seen in the options and upgrades for this product HERE.

Will the accessories ship together and installed on the MIA Mobility Scooter Package?

With standard delivery, accessories are not assembled on the scooter at time of delivery. With white glove delivery, MIA FOUR accessories will be attached and Diestco accessories can be attached by request.

Does Medicare/Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the MIA Mobility Scooter Package?

Many heavy-duty/recreational mobility scooters do not qualify as medical devices under Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance strict rules. Though you might be disabled and using the device in a full medical sense, Medicare/Medicaid and private insurance seem to want to save as much money as they can, and do so by making the rules about which models qualify very strict.

You might have spent significant time trying to find a Medicare/Medicaid provider online, to no avail. This is because it’s actually very hard for dealers to become Medicare providers, again making it hard for patients to get free scooters, again saving the insurance money.

We don’t work with Medicare. We also do not bill private insurances directly. Some private insurances may reimburse you outside of Medicare’s framework. To check if your insurer does this, we recommend contacting them directly and asking. If they say yes, we’re happy to provide invoices/proof of purchases so you can get your money back from your insurer.

Here’s a full disclaimer with regard to Medicare/Medicaid:

Notice to Medicare/Medicaid Beneficiaries. Medicare will pay for medical equipment and supplies only if a supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have a Medicare supplier number. Medicare will not pay for any medical equipment and supplies we sell or rent to you. You will be personally and fully responsible for payment.

What do I need to do to purchase the MIA Mobility Scooter Package online/over the phone?

To purchase over the phone, simply call our toll-free number 1-888-233-5563 and we can help you from there.

If you are sure about the model you want, all we would need is your payment method (easiest is credit card or cash/checking account card) and your shipping address.

If you aren’t quite sure which model to choose, we can offer suggestions and advice to your heart’s content - until you’re perfectly satisfied.

What happens after my order for the MIA Mobility Scooter Package is placed?

After your order for the MIA Mobility Scooter Package is placed, you will see a screen that looks like this one:

You will also receive an email confirmation, detailing the item you brought and the price you paid. The email will come from: [email protected].

Your email confirmation will contain instructions regarding delivery, please read these carefully.

As soon as your item ships, we will send you an email containing a tracking link. Clicking on this link will allow you to track the shipping progress of your scooter.

If you chose standard, curbside delivery at checkout:

The shipping company will call you to schedule a delivery appointment - you don’t have to take the first day available - you can delay receiving your scooter for a couple of days if that works better for you. We will also provide you with their number so you can call to preemptively arrange an appointment, or incase they fail to call you.

The shipping company will call you usually within an hour of delivery, to let you prepare yourself at the curbside nearest to your home.

The truck (very often an 18-wheeler) will deposit your scooter on the curbside, on a wooden crate. For more info on unpacking, see the question below “How does my product arrive, is any setup required?”

If you choose White Glove Delivery at checkout:

The scooter goes first to a local mobility shop in your area that we arrange and pay. They uncrate it, assemble it and charge it, usually within 1-2 business days of receiving it, then call you to set a delivery time.

This is in-home setup, not a crate at the curb: you can ask the shop for a delivery time that suits you, or hold the delivery for a while if you are not ready. If in doubt, just call us at 1-888-233-5563.

At the delivery appointment, the shop brings the scooter right into your home, wherever you want it, and walks you through the controls before they leave.

What comes included/free with the MIA Mobility Scooter Package?

  • The MIA 0% tilt limiter set is included.
  • Batteries are included.
  • Standard shipping is free.
  • Your scooter comes with a charger.
How long from the time of order until I get my MIA Mobility Scooter Package?

This very much depends on two factors: the stock status above and the processing and shipping time.

Bear in mind, different colors of the same model can have different stock statuses.

The stock status for this scooter can be seen just under the product title at the top of the page.

  • This item is picked up by UPS/FedEx within 1 to 3 business days after the order is placed. After processing and leaving the warehouse, items usually take between 4 and 10 days (for free shipping) to arrive at their destination but can take longer from time to time. Please note these are indicative times and can vary based on how far you are from the supplier warehouse and the volume of orders being received. Also note that upgrades or extra accessory additions to your order may require extra time for installation.
  • If a MIA Mobility Scooter Package is showing LEAD TIME with a number of weeks indicated, the estimated ship out time is that lead time plus standard ship out and transit time indicated in the paragraph above.

Please note, we have excellent relationships with our suppliers/manufacturers. If we are showing an item as having a lead time, it’s almost certainly the same for other dealers who might not have the most up-to-date information on the websites and may show the item as having a lead time.

  • If a MIA Mobility Scooter Package is showing OUT OF STOCK above, please contact us for more details. You can call us at

Please note, we have excellent relationships with our suppliers/manufacturers. If we are showing an item as out of stock, it’s almost certainly the same for other dealers who might not have the most up-to-date information on the websites and may show the item as in stock.

Why are there such long lead times on some mobility scooters?

Covid has dealt a horrible blow to pretty much every industry on the planet. Right from mining materials to processing them to the factories that produce parts, shipping and freight companies - at every stage of the chain there are workforce shortages and severe delays.

My MIA Mobility Scooter Package is showing a long lead time above. Why should I buy a scooter now if in any case I won’t get it right away?

Unfortunately, the way things are nowadays, with delays across the entire supply chain, if you wait until there is no lead time on your scooter, you might end up waiting forever. As soon as new stock comes in, it is assigned to orders that were already placed, sometimes weeks in advance. We don’t know how soon the situation will get better - and it may actually get worse before getting better again.

For this reason, customers are placing their orders as soon as they are able, to be placed on the list for as soon as the next scooters are ready to ship.

Where will my MIA Mobility Scooter Package ship from?

MIA Mobility Scooter Package generally ships from the main warehouse in Florida, USA.

Who will ship my MIA Mobility Scooter Package?

MIA Mobility Scooter Package scooters are almost always shipped by UPS/FedEx Carriers - a freight and trucking company. In most instances, your scooter is delivered by 18-wheeler, unless you choose white glove delivery.

How does the MIA Mobility Scooter Package arrive – is any setup required?

The MIA Mobility Scooter Package comes in a cardboard box, pretty much fully assembled and ready to ride.

What if I don't like my MIA Mobility Scooter Package? Can I return or exchange it?

Yes. Every new MIA scooter comes with a 14-day trial. If it is not right for you, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we will arrange the pickup for you. Please keep the original packaging, as the scooter needs to go back in it. A flat $350 return fee covers the collection and return shipping, and the rest of your purchase price is refunded.

Is the MIA Mobility Scooter Package easy to drive? How does acceleration work? How does braking work?

The MIA Mobility Scooter Package is super easy to drive and control.

You ride it seated and steer with the handlebars. Stopping is by front and rear dual hydraulic disc brakes with 5.5" discs. With the tilt limiters fitted the scooter stays upright, so slow down before corners.

It also features slow-speed mode for confined areas or while you’re building up your driving skills and want to go a little slower.

I only have use of my left hand. Can the MIA Mobility Scooter Package for left handed users? Can the MIA Mobility Scooter Package be operated with one hand?

MIA does not list this scooter as a one hand vehicle. You steer with the handlebars and stop with front and rear dual hydraulic disc brakes, so please call us before you buy if you can use only one hand.

Can I ride the MIA Mobility Scooter Package in the rain, snow, wind and hot sun?
  • Rain: It’s OK and safe if you get caught in the rain once in a while, or go through an occasional puddle, but you should try to avoid a trip if you know it’s going to rain.
  • Snow and ice: We cannot take responsibility for using the scooter in these kinds of weather conditions.
  • Cold weather: Fine, though it does negatively impact the battery health and lifetime.
  • Wind: Generally not an issue unless very strong winds that could tip the scooter over.
If you have a mobility scooter with a canopy, remember, very strong winds can act as a sail to tip over your scooter.
  • Hot sun: No issue as far as the scooter is concerned. Remember to take along ample hydration!
Do the MIA Mobility Scooter Package batteries need maintenance?

This mobility scooter uses maintenance-free batteries which do not need any care until they die, after around 3 years of use.

How often should my MIA Mobility Scooter Package be inspected?

It’s a good idea to have your scooter checked once a year by a qualified technician.

Call us 1-888-233-5563 to get details on a local technician in your area.

You should also call us or a local tech if you hear strange noises coming out of your scooter.

How many years can I expect the MIA Mobility Scooter Package to last me?

For this kind of mobility scooter, you can expect to get a lifetime of around 7 years or more.

This obviously depends on the way you take care of your scooter among other factors.

Will the MIA Mobility Scooter Package fit in my car trunk/truck bed?

This scooter will not fit in the vast majority of car trunks. It will however fit on most pickup truck beds.

If you’re planning on transporting your mobility scooter on a pickup truck bed, you’ll probably need a ramp to get the scooter up onto the truck bed.

Please contact us for more details at

I don’t have a large enough vehicle to transport the MIA Mobility Scooter Package. What are my options?
  • Electric lift: The most common solution is to purchase a platform-style vehicle lift, which sits on your trailer hitch.

If you don’t have a trailer hitch on your vehicle, you’ll need to have one installed. The platform lowers right down to road level, you ride the scooter onto the platform, secure the scooter with provided straps and then activate a lift which raises the platform a few feet off the ground.
You’ll need a vehicle that can take a max tongue weight of at least 500 lbs, so this won’t work for saloon and hatchback vehicles.

    Explore our electric lifts collection.

  • Manual Platform: Like an electric lift, this has a platform which sits on your trailer hitch, but this platform does not rise and decened, instead, it has a built-in ramp which flips out, allowing you to roll the scooter up onto the platform.

You’ll need a vehicle that can take a max tongue weight of at least 500 lbs, so this won’t work for saloon and hatchback vehicles.

Explore our collection of manual platforms.

  • Scooter trailer: This is a full-fledged trailer on its own wheels, which attaches to your trailer hitch.

There is just one company that designs and produces a trailer specifically for mobility scooters, or you can just get any generic trailer whose specifications match the MIA FOUR in terms of weight and dimensions.

Explore our collection of scooter trailers.
