Overview

Porto Mobility Stron lift front view with the mast extended

The Porto Mobility Stron is a telescopic hoist lift for large folding power chairs, and Porto rates it for the Ranger Magnum and The Beast. It carries up to 220 lbs, raises a chair about 55 inches and turns it with controlled rotation. A folding wheeled base locks in place, and Porto backs it with a 1 year warranty.

The Stron uses a telescopic ladder style mast on a folding base with wheels and a locking mechanism. You roll it up to the vehicle, lock the base and raise the chair with a wired up and down switch. Controlled rotation lets you turn the raised chair toward the cargo area before you lower it.

The frame is reinforced structural aluminum with a corrosion resistant coating. Set up, the Stron measures 74.8 x 30.7 x 34.6 in, and it folds to 27.5 x 13.8 x 17.7 in for storage. It weighs about 53 lbs and runs a 24V DC lifting system, with the Lift Power Kit available as an independent battery.

Who the Stron Suits

Porto rates the Stron for the Ranger Magnum, which weighs 98 lbs with batteries, and The Beast, which weighs 90 lbs before its batteries go in. Both sit inside the Stron's 220 lb rating. It is also the Porto lift for a chair that is too heavy for the 100 lb Rovan, as long as the chair weighs 220 lbs or less.

How It Compares

The Stron weighs about 53 lbs, about twice the Rovan at 25 lbs or the Elevon at 28 lbs, and it needs more floor space when set up. In return it is rated for 220 lbs against their 100 and 70 lbs, and the hoist rotates the chair into place.

How much weight can the Porto Stron lift?

Porto rates the Stron for 220 lbs, about 100 kg, and names the Ranger Magnum and The Beast as chairs it is rated for. It lifts a chair about 55 inches.

How big is the Porto Stron when folded?

Folded, the Stron measures 27.5 x 13.8 x 17.7 in and weighs about 53 lbs. Set up, Porto lists it at 74.8 x 30.7 x 34.6 in, so check that you have that much room beside the cargo opening.

How do I order the Stron?

Add it to your cart on this page and check out, which takes a few minutes. You can pay in full or choose Klarna to spread the cost over monthly payments.

Can I order the Stron over the phone?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563 and we will place the order with you. All we need is your payment method and your shipping address. Extra batteries and other Porto accessories can be added to a phone order.

Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the Stron?

We do not work with Medicare and we do not bill private insurance directly. Some private plans will reimburse you after you buy, so it is worth calling your insurer to ask. If they say yes, we are happy to provide an invoice and proof of purchase so you can file for reimbursement.

Notice to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare pays for equipment only when the supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have one, so Medicare will not pay for anything we sell you. You are personally and fully responsible for payment.

What comes with the Stron?

Call us before you buy and we will confirm exactly what comes in the box.

How long until my Stron arrives?

The Stron ships from Porto Mobility. Porto quotes delivery in about 1 to 5 business days for models in stock, and we email you the expected ship date after you order. If you need it by a certain day, call us before you buy and we will check the timing.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. As soon as your order ships we email you a tracking link so you can follow it to your door.

Can I return the Stron?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, as long as it comes back in new condition in its original boxes with all of its parts. A 15% restocking fee applies. You prepay the return shipping, and the original shipping charges are not refunded, so keep the boxes until you are sure. Items sold as open box cannot be returned.

Warranty problems are handled separately and do not count as a return. Please read the full returns policy for the details.

How does the Stron load a chair?

Unfold the base, roll the Stron beside the vehicle and engage the lock so it can't drift. Attach the folded chair as the instructions show, raise it with the wired switch, then use the controlled rotation to bring it over the cargo area and lower it into place. Keep the load at 220 lbs or less.

How is the Stron powered?

The Stron runs a 24V DC lifting system. For a supply that doesn't depend on anything else, add the Lift Power Kit, which gives it an independent battery and charger. Call us and we will confirm the right power setup for your vehicle and chair.

How do I fold and store it?

The base folds and the mast telescopes down, bringing the Stron to 27.5 x 13.8 x 17.7 in. It weighs about 53 lbs, so use the wheels to move it rather than carrying it any distance.

Which chairs and vehicles does the Stron suit?

The Stron is rated for 220 lbs and Porto rates it for the Ranger Magnum and The Beast, the heavy folding chairs that outgrow the Rovan. It lifts a chair about 55 inches.

When set up it needs a 74.8 x 30.7 in footprint, so check that you have room beside the cargo opening to stand it before you buy.

Is Porto Mobility a good brand?

Porto Mobility designs and sells folding power wheelchairs, lightweight folding mobility scooters and portable chair lifts. Its Ranger chairs fold small enough for a car trunk or SUV cargo area, on carbon fiber or aluminum alloy frames depending on the model, and Porto publishes a weight capacity for each chair, scooter and lift.

Porto's standard warranty covers the frame for 3 years and the electronics and batteries for 1 year, and some models carry different terms. When a covered part fails, Porto sends the replacement part and connects you with a local service provider. As an authorized dealer we stay your first point of contact and take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

How is my lift delivered?

Delivery to your curb is free. Check the packaging and the lift before you sign for it, and call 1-888-233-5563 if anything looks wrong.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Choose Klarna at checkout to pay over time. See how financing works.

Can I talk to someone before I buy?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563. Real people answer, business hours and weekends.
