The Royce suits a rider up to 265 lbs who wants an aluminum chair under 40 lbs that runs on two batteries. The batteries slide out from the side, so a spare can go straight in.

How It Compares

The Super Lightweight weighs 43 lbs and runs on a single 6Ah battery for up to 12 miles, so the Royce is lighter and goes farther. The Skylight folds to the same 23 x 13 x 34 in and weighs 9 lbs less, but its range is 13 miles against 18 miles here.

Warranty

What does the Ranger Royce warranty cover?

Porto covers the frame for 3 years. The batteries, motor and controller are covered for 1 year.

Porto does not cover damage from abuse, such as taking it through deep water or dropping it. When a covered part fails, Porto sends the replacement part and connects you with a local service provider for the repair. If something goes wrong, contact us first and we will take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

What batteries does the Ranger Royce use?

The Ranger Royce runs on two 24V 8Ah lithium ion batteries that slide in from the side, so you can charge them off the chair or swap in a spare. Porto rates the pair for up to 18 miles.

Can I take the Ranger Royce power chair on a plane?

Each battery is rated 24V and 8Ah, which works out to 192 watt hours. Porto's Royce listing makes no airline statement, so give your airline that figure and confirm their rules before you book.

How much does the Ranger Royce weigh and how small does it fold?

The Royce weighs 39 lbs without batteries on an aluminum alloy frame and folds to 23 x 13 x 34 in (L x W x H). Porto rates it for riders up to 265 lbs.

How do I order the Ranger Royce?

Add it to your cart on this page and check out, which takes a few minutes. You can pay in full or choose Klarna to spread the cost over monthly payments.

Can I order the Ranger Royce over the phone?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563 and we will place the order with you. All we need is your payment method and your shipping address. Extra batteries and other Porto accessories can be added to a phone order.

Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the Ranger Royce?

We do not work with Medicare and we do not bill private insurance directly. Some private plans will reimburse you after you buy, so it is worth calling your insurer to ask. If they say yes, we are happy to provide an invoice and proof of purchase so you can file for reimbursement.

Notice to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare pays for equipment only when the supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have one, so Medicare will not pay for anything we sell you. You are personally and fully responsible for payment.

What comes with the Ranger Royce?

Call us before you buy and we will confirm exactly what comes in the box.

How long until my Ranger Royce arrives?

The Ranger Royce ships from Porto Mobility. Porto quotes delivery in about 1 to 5 business days for models in stock, and we email you the expected ship date after you order. If you need it by a certain day, call us before you buy and we will check the timing.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. As soon as your order ships we email you a tracking link so you can follow it to your door.

Can I return the Ranger Royce?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, as long as it comes back in new condition in its original boxes with all of its parts. A 15% restocking fee applies. You prepay the return shipping, and the original shipping charges are not refunded, so keep the boxes until you are sure. Items sold as open box cannot be returned.

Warranty problems are handled separately and do not count as a return. Please read the full returns policy for the details.

How do I fold the Royce?

The Royce folds to 23 x 13 x 34 in. Slide the batteries out of the side first so you are lifting 39 lbs. Call us if you would like a walkthrough of the fold before your first trip.

How do the controls work?

A detachable joystick that moves in any direction does the driving, and you can set the top speed anywhere up to 4.5 mph. The brakes are electromagnetic.

How do I charge and swap the batteries?

The two 24V 8Ah lithium batteries slide in and out from the side of the chair, so you can charge them off the chair or swap in a spare. Porto rates the pair at up to 18 miles. Extra batteries are available by phone.

Where can I ride it?

Porto rates the Royce for slopes up to 15 degrees, and it has 3.9 in of ground clearance. It is meant for sidewalks, indoor floors and paved paths, so take ramps slowly and straight on. Porto does not publish a water resistance rating, so keep the chair out of rain and standing water.

Will it fit in my car?

Folded, it measures 23 x 13 x 34 in. Measure your trunk or cargo opening first, and plan on lifting 39 lbs with the batteries out.

Can I fly with it?

Each battery is a 24V 8Ah lithium pack. Airlines and cruise lines set their own rules for lithium batteries, so share those ratings with your carrier and confirm before you book.

Is Porto Mobility a good brand?

Porto Mobility designs and sells folding power wheelchairs, lightweight folding mobility scooters and portable chair lifts. Its Ranger chairs fold small enough for a car trunk or SUV cargo area, on carbon fiber or aluminum alloy frames depending on the model, and Porto publishes a weight capacity for each chair, scooter and lift.

Porto's standard warranty covers the frame for 3 years and the electronics and batteries for 1 year, and some models carry different terms. When a covered part fails, Porto sends the replacement part and connects you with a local service provider. As an authorized dealer we stay your first point of contact and take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

How is my chair delivered?

Delivery to your curb is free. Check the packaging and the chair before you sign for it, and call 1-888-233-5563 if anything looks wrong.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Choose Klarna at checkout to pay over time. See how financing works.

Can I talk to someone before I buy?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563. Real people answer, business hours and weekends.
