Two 250W brushless motors run on a pair of 24V 6Ah lithium batteries that weigh 4 lbs each, and Porto describes the batteries as airline compliant. The joystick and its cord detach, the joystick steers in any direction, and the brakes are regenerative electromagnetic units.

Warranty

What does the Ranger Maestro XL warranty cover?

The Ranger Maestro XL is covered by Porto Mobility's standard warranty, since Porto does not list separate terms for this model. Those standard terms cover the frame for 3 years and the electronics and batteries for 1 year.

Porto does not cover damage from abuse, such as taking it through deep water or dropping it. When a covered part fails, Porto sends the replacement part and connects you with a local service provider for the repair. If something goes wrong, contact us first and we will take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

What is the difference between the Ranger Maestro XL and the standard Maestro?

The Maestro XL has a 21 in seat set 21 in from the ground, weighs 52 lbs without batteries and adds under seat storage. The standard Maestro has a 19 in seat set 20 in from the ground and weighs 50 lbs. Both recline with a side lever, carry 440 lbs and go up to 18 miles.

What charger does the Ranger Maestro XL use?

The two 24V 6Ah lithium ion batteries charge on a charger with a 24V 2A output that runs on AC 100 to 220V. Each battery weighs 4 lbs, and Porto rates the pair for up to 18 miles.

Can I take the Ranger Maestro XL on a plane?

Porto calls the Maestro XL batteries airline compliant. They are 24V 6Ah packs of 144 watt hours each, and each airline sets its own limits, so confirm with yours before you book.

How do I order the Ranger Maestro XL?

Add it to your cart on this page and check out, which takes a few minutes. You can pay in full or choose Klarna to spread the cost over monthly payments.

Can I order the Ranger Maestro XL over the phone?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563 and we will place the order with you. All we need is your payment method and your shipping address. Extra batteries and other Porto accessories can be added to a phone order.

Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the Ranger Maestro XL?

We do not work with Medicare and we do not bill private insurance directly. Some private plans will reimburse you after you buy, so it is worth calling your insurer to ask. If they say yes, we are happy to provide an invoice and proof of purchase so you can file for reimbursement.

Notice to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare pays for equipment only when the supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have one, so Medicare will not pay for anything we sell you. You are personally and fully responsible for payment.

What comes with the Ranger Maestro XL?

Call us before you buy and we will confirm exactly what comes in the box.

How long until my Ranger Maestro XL arrives?

The Ranger Maestro XL ships from Porto Mobility. Porto quotes delivery in about 1 to 5 business days for models in stock, and we email you the expected ship date after you order. If you need it by a certain day, call us before you buy and we will check the timing.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. As soon as your order ships we email you a tracking link so you can follow it to your door.

Can I return the Ranger Maestro XL?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, as long as it comes back in new condition in its original boxes with all of its parts. A 15% restocking fee applies. You prepay the return shipping, and the original shipping charges are not refunded, so keep the boxes until you are sure. Items sold as open box cannot be returned.

Warranty problems are handled separately and do not count as a return. Please read the full returns policy for the details.

How do I recline the backrest?

Use the lever on the side of the chair to release the backrest, set the angle you want and release the lever to hold it. Bring the back upright again before you drive.

How does the Maestro XL fold?

Folded, it measures 24 x 13 x 31 in. Take the two 4 lb batteries out and unplug the detachable joystick cord before you lift the 52 lb frame. We can walk you through the fold by phone.

How do I charge it?

The two 24V 6Ah lithium batteries charge on a 24V 2A charger and weigh 4 lbs each, so you can carry them indoors to charge. Extra batteries are available by phone.

Where can I ride the Maestro XL?

Porto rates it for slopes up to 25 degrees. Take any slope slowly and straight on with the backrest upright. It clears 3.7 in, turns in a 33 in radius and rides on solid tires that cannot go flat. Porto does not publish a water resistance rating for the XL, so keep it out of rain and standing water.

Will it fit in my car?

Folded, the Maestro XL measures 24 x 13 x 31 in and the frame weighs 52 lbs without batteries. Measure your trunk or cargo floor first, and call us if you want help checking a specific vehicle.

Can I fly with it?

Porto describes the Maestro XL batteries as airline compliant. They are two 24V 6Ah lithium packs. Confirm with your airline before you book, since each carrier sets its own battery rules.

Is Porto Mobility a good brand?

Porto Mobility designs and sells folding power wheelchairs, lightweight folding mobility scooters and portable chair lifts. Its Ranger chairs fold small enough for a car trunk or SUV cargo area, on carbon fiber or aluminum alloy frames depending on the model, and Porto publishes a weight capacity for each chair, scooter and lift.

Porto's standard warranty covers the frame for 3 years and the electronics and batteries for 1 year, and some models carry different terms. When a covered part fails, Porto sends the replacement part and connects you with a local service provider. As an authorized dealer we stay your first point of contact and take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

How is my chair delivered?

Delivery to your curb is free. Check the packaging and the chair before you sign for it, and call 1-888-233-5563 if anything looks wrong.

Can I pay over time?
