The 1050-A03 accordion safety skirt is the factory guard for the scissor mechanism on a Pony Express 1050-EL motorized electric lift cart. It is a pleated skirt that closes in the space under the deck and folds down with the scissors as the cart lowers, so the gaps that open and close during a lift stay covered through the whole cycle.
A scissor lift is a pinch hazard by design. The 1050-EL raises the deck from 18.5 in off the floor up to 64 in, and every inch of that travel opens and closes a gap between the moving arms. The accordion skirt keeps hands, sleeves, air lines and stray parts out of that gap and keeps swarf and debris off the mechanism, which is why plants working to a machine guarding standard usually specify it on the order.
This is the option Electro Kinetic Technologies lists on the 1050-EL factory page as the optional safety skirt, and it is built to order in Germantown Wisconsin to suit the 43.5 in long by 23 in wide platform. It carries a 1 year warranty. Because it fits around the lift mechanism itself, the simplest route is to order it with a new cart, and we can ask the factory about fitting one to a 1050-EL that is already in service.

It closes off the space around the scissor mechanism under the deck. As the 1050-EL travels between 18.5 in and 64 in, the arms open and close a gap that will catch a hand, a sleeve or a hose. The skirt keeps that gap covered and keeps debris off the mechanism at the same time.
It is built for the 1050-EL and it fits around the lift mechanism, so ordering it with a new cart is the clean route. If your cart is already in service, send us the serial number and we will get a retrofit answer from Electro Kinetic Technologies before you order.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated.
