Overview

Porto Mobility Ranger Ivy scooter with front basket, low angled view

The Porto Mobility Ranger Ivy is a carbon fiber folding scooter that weighs 36 lbs without batteries and carries riders up to 300 lbs. It has an 18.1 in seat and two 180W motors, and it runs on one or two semi solid lithium batteries for up to 10 miles. The frame carries a 3 year Porto warranty.

The Ivy is built around a carbon fiber frame and weighs 36 lbs before the batteries go in. Two 180W motors share the work through a 720W controller, and the 18.1 in seat gives you more room than the 16 in seat on the Ranger Carbon.

It runs on one or two semi solid lithium batteries rated at 6Ah each. Range is up to 10 miles per charge, and like any scooter it varies with rider weight, terrain and how many batteries you carry. Top speed is 3.7 mph, and Porto rates the Ivy for slopes of 8 to 12 degrees.

Warranty

What does the Ranger Ivy warranty cover?

Porto warrants the Ivy's carbon fiber frame for 3 years. The motors, the controller and the battery are each covered for 1 year.

Porto does not cover damage from abuse, such as taking it through deep water or dropping it. When a covered part fails, Porto sends the replacement part and connects you with a local service provider for the repair. If something goes wrong, contact us first and we will take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

What battery does the Ranger Ivy Carbon use?

The Ivy runs on one or two semi solid lithium batteries rated at 6Ah each, with an output of 19 to 29.4V. Porto rates the scooter for up to 10 miles per charge, and extra batteries are available by phone.

Can I take the Ranger Ivy Carbon on a plane?

Porto's listing makes no airline statement for the Ivy and gives the battery as 6Ah without a single nominal voltage. Read the watt hour rating on the battery label and give it to your airline before you book.

How small does the Ranger Ivy Carbon fold?

Folded, the Ivy measures 15.8 x 18.9 x 26.8 in (L x W x H) and weighs 36 lbs with the batteries out. Porto rates it for riders up to 300 lbs.

How do I order the Ranger Ivy?

Add it to your cart on this page and check out, which takes a few minutes. You can pay in full or choose Klarna to spread the cost over monthly payments.

Can I order the Ranger Ivy over the phone?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563 and we will place the order with you. All we need is your payment method and your shipping address. Extra batteries and other Porto accessories can be added to a phone order.

Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance help pay for the Ranger Ivy?

We do not work with Medicare and we do not bill private insurance directly. Some private plans will reimburse you after you buy, so it is worth calling your insurer to ask. If they say yes, we are happy to provide an invoice and proof of purchase so you can file for reimbursement.

Notice to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Medicare pays for equipment only when the supplier has a Medicare supplier number. Heavy Duty Mobility does not have one, so Medicare will not pay for anything we sell you. You are personally and fully responsible for payment.

What comes with the Ranger Ivy?

Call us before you buy and we will confirm exactly what comes in the box.

How long until my Ranger Ivy arrives?

The Ranger Ivy ships from Porto Mobility. Porto quotes delivery in about 1 to 5 business days for models in stock, and we email you the expected ship date after you order. If you need it by a certain day, call us before you buy and we will check the timing.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. As soon as your order ships we email you a tracking link so you can follow it to your door.

Can I return the Ranger Ivy?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, as long as it comes back in new condition in its original boxes with all of its parts. A 15% restocking fee applies. You prepay the return shipping, and the original shipping charges are not refunded, so keep the boxes until you are sure. Items sold as open box cannot be returned.

Warranty problems are handled separately and do not count as a return. Please read the full returns policy for the details.

How do the Ivy's batteries work?

The Ivy runs on one or two semi solid lithium batteries rated at 6Ah each. Running on one keeps the scooter lighter to lift, and carrying two gives you more distance between charges. Extra batteries are available by phone.

Where can I ride the Ivy?

Porto rates the Ivy for slopes of 8 to 12 degrees, so treat 8 degrees as the limit and take any slope slowly and straight on. With 1.6 in of ground clearance it suits pavement, store floors and smooth paths, so use a ramp or curb cut rather than a curb. The solid PU wheels can't go flat. Porto does not publish a water resistance rating for the Ivy, so keep it out of rain and standing water.

How does the Ivy stop?

An electromagnetic brake does the stopping, and a 47.3 in turning radius helps when you need to turn around in an aisle or hallway.

Will it fit in my car?

Folded, the Ivy measures 15.8 x 18.9 x 26.8 in. It weighs 36 lbs with the batteries out, so lift the batteries out first and load them separately.

Can I fly with it?

Each airline sets its own rules for mobility devices and lithium batteries. Call your airline with the battery details before you book, and we can give you those details by phone.

Is Porto Mobility a good brand?

Porto Mobility designs and sells folding power wheelchairs, lightweight folding mobility scooters and portable chair lifts. Its Ranger chairs fold small enough for a car trunk or SUV cargo area, on carbon fiber or aluminum alloy frames depending on the model, and Porto publishes a weight capacity for each chair, scooter and lift.

Porto's standard warranty covers the frame for 3 years and the electronics and batteries for 1 year, and some models carry different terms. When a covered part fails, Porto sends the replacement part and connects you with a local service provider. As an authorized dealer we stay your first point of contact and take the claim to Porto's technical team for you.

How is my scooter delivered?

Delivery to your curb is free. Check the packaging and the scooter before you sign for it, and call 1-888-233-5563 if anything looks wrong.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Choose Klarna at checkout to pay over time. See how financing works.

Can I talk to someone before I buy?

Yes. Call 1-888-233-5563. Real people answer, business hours and weekends.
