Add-on ballast weight that adds mass over the drive wheel of a Pony Express electric tugger to boost traction on slick or inclined floors. Supplied by Heavy Duty Mobility for the EKT Pony Express line.
The Ballast Weight for Extra Traction is an add-on counterweight for the Pony Express line of electric tuggers. It adds mass over the drive wheel so the machine keeps its grip when floors turn slick or when a route runs up an incline. More weight on the drive tire raises the traction the tugger can put down before the wheel starts to spin.
Every tugger needs enough weight on its drive wheel to pull a load. When the drive tire loses grip it spins and the available drawbar force drops. That is the problem this ballast weight is meant to solve. On wet floors, painted concrete, ramps and dock grades, the added mass helps a Pony Express move its rated load with less risk of slipping.
This ballast is designed for the Pony Express line and suits the 1061, 1062, 1065, 1065-HD and 1065-XHD models. If your operators report wheel spin on start-up or on grades, this is one of the first upgrades to weigh before stepping up to a larger machine. I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. I am very thankful for the day I first saw the MOJO on the internet. I I now own my very own MOJO.

Found the type of Scooter. I wanted to buy online not everyone has the kind of scooter. I have . Talked to Raphael Perlmann about the scooter I wanted. I was a little hesitant at first because they were from Florida.
