The EK Tech 5500 Companion Shopper is a manual wheelchair with a shopping basket on the front, built for stores that want customers with limited mobility to get around the aisles and still carry what they buy. A companion or a store associate does the pushing while the rider keeps the basket in front of them, so one trip covers the whole store. It is a manual chair, so there is no battery to charge and nothing to plug in at closing time.
The frame is chrome plated carbon steel and the front and rear bearings are permanently sealed, so the chair keeps rolling through years of daily retail use with almost no upkeep. The upholstery is flame retardant and resists mildew and bacteria, and heavy duty inner liners stop the seat back from stretching out of shape the way ordinary loaner chairs do after a few hundred riders.
Every 5500 comes standard with the swing away front basket, swing away footrests and anti tip devices. The basket swings clear so the rider can get in and out without climbing over it, the footrests swing away for the same reason, and the anti tip devices keep the chair settled when someone leans forward to reach a shelf. Rider capacity is 250 lb and the basket holds up to 50 lb of shopping.
Grocery stores, home improvement centers, drug stores, discount stores, hardware stores and other retail facilities keep the 5500 at the front of the store as a simple, low maintenance mobility option. Each unit ships by freight carrier on a skid from the EK Tech factory in Wisconsin. Once your order is confirmed we give you the current factory lead time with your quote, and transit typically adds three to seven business days depending on your distance. We coordinate dock delivery or liftgate service with you when the build is scheduled.

The EK Tech 5500 Companion Shopper carries the standard Electro Kinetic Technologies limited warranty, and we put the exact terms in writing with your quote. It does not cover service or transportation costs, normal wear items, damage from misuse, unauthorized work or modifications, or outdoor storage. Shipping damage and incidental damages are also not covered. The warranty is valid for the original buyer with a sales receipt, and any warranty changes need approval from Electro Kinetic Technologies, LLC.

I needed a mobility scooter that was auto-folding, but not overly engineered where problems can arise, was not too heavy to lift by myself, would easily fit in the trunk of my car, and not be overly expensive. Wishful thinking I thought. Until I discovered the MOJO on my computer. This scooter ticked all my boxes, and more. It is comfortable, well built, is easy to charge the batteries without having to bend down to remove them, and even if you do want to remove them they are accessible from the standing position. the tiller is fully adjustable as are the arm rests, the folding/unfolding functions are easily initiated, and the axle release is easily achieved. A well engineered piece of kit. Now, for the customer service: I can honestly say that I have never come across anything like it; it is absolutely perfect. The gentleman I dealt with 'bent over backwards' to help me without pressuring me into a purchase, and to ensure I was buying a scooter that was right for me. Because I live in New Zealand I knew I was creating a lot more work for him, but he never complained. This and my MOJO are very much appreciated. I am very thankful for the day I first saw the MOJO on the internet. I I now own my very own MOJO.

Found the type of Scooter. I wanted to buy online not everyone has the kind of scooter. I have . Talked to Raphael Perlmann about the scooter I wanted. The person I talked with was very professional. He knew what products I may like, but in the end it was my choice of what to buy, or not buy.
